Telephone to Jesus, telephone to Jesus telephone to Jesus everyday!!!, Halloo, Telephone to Jesus, telephone to Jesus telephone to Jesus everyday!!!, Halloo,
Today  How do you know when God calls you?  <discuss>  It is different for everyone but some things are similar. Usually, it is something that you know is a good thing to do.  Often you think someone else should do it.  When you are in a situation and you have a feeling that you really should do something specific that is good, sometimes that is God on the phone!
Focus:
<Here I am, Lord; I come to do your will.>
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the HolySpirit. Amen.
May The Grace of our Lord Jesus Christ,
And the love of God,
And the fellowship of the Holy Spirit,
be with you all.
And with Your Spirit.

Liturgy of the Word
First Reading
A prepared child comes to takes the first reading or second reading..
The first reading today is taken from the letter of 1st
1 Samuel  3:3B-10, 19
Samuel was sleeping in the temple of the LORD
where the ark of God was.
The LORD called to Samuel, who answered, "Here I am."
Samuel ran to Eli and said, "Here I am. You called me."
"I did not call you, " Eli said. "Go back to sleep."
So he went back to sleep.
Again the LORD called Samuel, who rose and went to Eli.
"Here I am, " he said. "You called me."
But Eli answered, "I did not call you, my son. Go back to sleep."

At that time Samuel was not familiar with the LORD,
because the LORD had not revealed anything to him as yet.
The LORD called Samuel again, for the third time.
Getting up and going to Eli, he said, "Here I am. You called me."
Then Eli understood that the LORD was calling the youth.
So he said to Samuel, "Go to sleep, and if you are called, reply,
Speak, LORD, for your servant is listening."
When Samuel went to sleep in his place,
the LORD came and revealed his presence,
calling out as before, "Samuel, Samuel!"
Samuel answered, "Speak, for your servant is listening."

Samuel grew up, and the LORD was with him,
not permitting any word of his to be without effect.

This is the word of the Lord
All say “Thanks be to God”.

Jesus Calls the First Disciples
35 The next day again John was standing with two of his disciples, 36 and he looked at Jesus as he walked by and said, “Behold, the Lamb of God!” 37 The two disciples heard him say this, and they followed Jesus. 38 Jesus turned and saw them following and said to them, “What are you seeking?” And they said to him, “Rabbi” (which means Teacher), “where are you staying?” 39 He said to them, “Come and you will see.” So they came and saw where he was staying, and they stayed with him that day, for it was about the tenth hour.[a] 40 One of the two who heard John speak and followed Jesus[b] was Andrew, Simon Peter's brother. 41 He first found his own brother Simon and said to him, “We have foundthe Messiah” (which means Christ). 42 He brought him to Jesus. Jesus looked at him and said, “You are Simon the son of John. You shall be called Cephas” (which means Peter[c]).

   ====  7:24 - 7:27 ====
The gospel today tells us about how the disciples first became followers of Jesus.

Jesus looked at Simon and decided he should be called Peter, which means “rock”. Why do you think Jesus chose this name for Simon Peter?

Simon Peter was dependable (like a rock) and he was the foundation for the Church. (Buildings are built on rock foundations so that they do not fall over).

Names are very important. We all have one, or two, or maybe even three. And some of us have a nickname that we like to be called by our family or our friends.

How many names do you have? What are they? Do you know what your name means? What do you like about your name?

Profession of our faith
I believe in God the Father, Almighty,
Creator of heaven and earth:
And in Jesus Christ, his only begotten Son, our Lord:
--bow down--
Who was conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit,
born of the Virgin Mary:
Suffered under Pontius Pilate;
was crucified, died and was buried:
He descended into hell:
And the third day he rose again from the dead:
He ascended into heaven,
and seated at the right hand of God the Father Almighty:
From there He shall come again to judge the leaving and the dead:
I believe in the Holy Spirit:
the holy catholic church:
the communion of saints:
The forgiveness of sins:
The resurrection of the body:
And the life everlasting.
Amen.

The Lord's Servant
42 The Lord says,
“Here is my servant, whom I strengthen—
the one I have chosen, with whom I am pleased.
I have filled him with my Spirit,
and he will bring justice to every nation.
He will not shout or raise his voice
or make loud speeches in the streets.
He will not lose hope or courage;
he will establish justice on the earth.
Distant lands eagerly wait for his teaching.”
“I, the Lord, have called you and given you power
to see that justice is done on earth.
Through you I will make a covenant with all peoples;
through you I will bring light to the nations.
You will open the eyes of the blind
and set free those who sit in dark prisons.

Mark 1:7-11Good News Translation (GNT)
7 He announced to the people, “The man who will come after me is much greater than I am. I am not good enough even to bend down and untie his sandals. 8 I baptize you with water, but he will baptize you with the Holy Spirit.”
The Baptism and Temptation of Jesus
9 Not long afterward Jesus came from Nazareth in the province of Galilee, and was baptized by John in the Jordan. 10 As soon as Jesus came up out of the water, he saw heaven opening and the Spirit coming down on him like a dove. 11 And a voice came from heaven, “You are my own dear Son. I am pleased with you.”
The Gospel of the Lord
(*)Tell an interesting story according to the Gospel and children’s level of understanding like in the Gospel reflection:
AskToday we hear how John baptised Jesus in the River Jordan. What happened as Jesus was baptised?

The Holy Spirit came down and rested on him. And God spoke saying to Jesus, “You are my Son, the Beloved; my favour rests on you.”

Who here has been baptised? Do you know?

Most of us are baptised when we are babies, so you might not remember it. Have you ever been to a baptism that you do remember?
What happens at a baptism? Talk the children through a baptism, the promises that are made on, pouring of water, anointing with oil, lighting of a candle etc.

Why do we get baptised?

Through baptism our sins are forgiven. It is also the way that we are welcomed as a member of the Church community – a big family that stretches all around the world. We are committed to God and to trying to live our lives the way that God wants us to.

How do you think God wants us to live our lives?

God calls us to be kind and generous, to share with others and forgive others and to try always to do what is right. God asks us to love our neighbour as ourselves.
