Theme: The Holy Family.
Welcome;
Say Today we hear about Jesus’ family
life and something surprising that happened when Jesus was a boy. Let’s think a
bit about different types of family and how we should treat people today.
Entrance
Song:
BIND US TOGETHER,
Lord, Bind us together
With cords that cannot be broken.
Bind us together, Lord,
Bind us together,
Bind us together with love.
There is only one God,
There is only one King;
There is only one Body,
That is why we sing:
Refrain
Made for the glory of God,
Purchased by His precious Son;
Born with the right to be clean,
For Jesus the victory has won.
Refrain
You are the family of God,
You are the promise divine;
You are God’s chosen desire,
You are the glorious new wine.
//V// In the name of the Father,
and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.
//R// Amen.
//V// May The Grace of our Lord Jesus Christ,
And
the love of God,
And
the fellowship of the Holy Spirit,
be
with you all.
//R// And with Your
Spirit.

Dear

and
so prepare ourselves to celebrate the sacred mysteries.
Confession
of our sins
I confess to the Almighty God,
and to you, my brothers and sisters,
that I have greatly sinned
in my thoughts and in my words
in what I have done and In what I have failed to do
-strike
the breast 3 times as you say-
through my fault
through my fault
through my most grievous fault
THEREFORE I ask Blessed Mary Ever Virgin
all the Angels and Saints
and you, my brothers and sisters
to pray for me to the Lord our God
Have Mercy on us oh Lord
For we have sinned against you.
Show us, Oh Lord, your mercy
And grant us your salvation.
You were sent to heal the contrite of heart.
Lord have Mercy
Lord have Mercy
You came to sinners
Christ have mercy
Christ have mercy
You are seated at the right hand of the father to intercede for us.
Lord have mercy.
Lord have mercy.
May the almighty God have mercy on us, forgive us our
sins and bring us to life everlasting? AMEN

Liturgy of the Word
Introduce the first reading.
The first reading is from the Old
Testament Book of Sirach (Sir 3:2-6). If
you listen closely you will hear some advice about how to treat parents - or
those who are taking care of you.
A prepared
child comes and takes the first reading or second reading.
Sir
3:2-6
5 Sirach 3:2-6
Good News Translation (GNT)
2 for the Lord
has given fathers authority over their children and given children the
obligation to obey their mothers. 3 If you respect your father, you
can make up for your sins, 4 and if you honor your mother, you are
earning great wealth. 5 If you respect your father, one day your own
children will make you happy; the Lord will hear your prayers. 6 If
you obey the Lord by honoring your father and making your mother happy, you
will live a long life.
“This is the word of the Lord”
All say “Thanks be to God”
Ask; Do the words in this
reading remind you of anything you have heard before? <discuss-
lead to the 4th Commandment. (There was a law given
to Moses that said almost the same thing) >
Let us focus on our responsorial Psalm:
< Happy are those who fear the
Lord and walk in His ways. 3x.
Introduce the Gospel
Today’s Gospel reading is from the book
of Matthew and tells us about something that happened in the early life of the
Infant Jesus. Listen to the story and
think about how the Holy Family is like your family.:
..with
Alleluia!! - OR
Welcome the Gospel through a song.
Halle halle halle is a
caribbean song listen to it on youtube its so easy to learn.
Halle, halle, halle-lu-jah!
Halle, halle, halle-lu-jah!
Halle, halle, halle-lu-jah!
Hallelujah! Hallelujah!
Silently
say:
”Cleanse my heart and my lips, almighty God, that I may worthily proclaim your
Holy Gospel.
The Lord be with You,
AND with your Spirit.
The Gospel Reading was
written by Matthew (Matt
2:13-15, 19-23). Let Lord’s Word be in my
mind <make a cross on
forehead>,
and on my lips <make a cross on lips>, and in my heart <make a cross on the
left side of the chest> OR
Glory to You Lord Jesus Christ.
The Escape to Egypt
13 After they had
left, an angel of the Lord appeared in a dream to Joseph and said, “Herod will
be looking for the child in order to kill him. So get up, take the child and
his mother and escape to Egypt, and stay there until I tell you to leave.”
14 Joseph got up,
took the child and his mother, and left during the night for Egypt, 15 where he
stayed until Herod died. This was done to make come true what the Lord had said
through the prophet, “I called my Son out of Egypt.”
The
Return from Egypt
19 After Herod died, an angel of the Lord appeared in a dream to
Joseph in Egypt 20 and said, “Get
up, take the child and his mother, and go back to the land of Israel, because
those who tried to kill the child are dead.” 21 So Joseph got up, took the child and his mother, and went back to
Israel.
22 But when Joseph heard that Archelaus had succeeded his father
Herod as king of Judea, he was afraid to go there. He was given more
instructions in a dream, so he went to the province of Galilee 23 and made his home in a town named Nazareth. And so what the
prophets had said came true: “He will be called a Nazarene.”
“The
Gospel of the Lord”
“Praise
to you Lord, Jesus Christ”

(*)Tell an interesting
story according to the Gospel and children’s level of understanding.
Gospel reflection:
Ask:
What happened? <Joseph had a
dream that the infant would be killed.
He responded by taking his wife and child away so that they would be
safe> What is the message for us in our families today?
Let us stand up and we profess our faith.
Profession of our faith
I believe in God the Father,
Almighty,
creator of heaven and earth:
And in Jesus Christ, his only
begotten Son, our Lord:
--bow down--
Who was conceived by the power of
the Holy Spirit,
born of the Virgin Mary:
Suffered under Pontius Pilate;
was crucified, died and was buried:
He descended into hell:
The third day, He rose again from
the dead:
He ascended into heaven,
and sits at the right hand of God
the Father Almighty:
From there He will come to judge the
leaving and the
dead:
I believe in the Holy Spirit:
the holy catholic church:
the communion of saints:
The forgiveness of sins:
The resurrection of the body:
And the life everlasting.
Amen.
