Theme: A Dove representing Peace.
==== 7:00 - 7:03 ====
Welcome;
Today Jesus talks about the importance of giving, of being
generous/peaceful with what we have and treating other people as we would like
to be treated. Let’s think a bit more about this today
…
Does anyone remember what we
learned last Sunday? Jesus’ special love for those who are poor, hungry, sad or
badly treated.
Entrance Song:
Seek ye first the
Kingdom of God
And His righteousness
And all these things shall be added unto you
Allelu Alleluia
And His righteousness
And all these things shall be added unto you
Allelu Alleluia
Man shall not live by
bread alone
But by every word
That proceeds from the mouth of God
Allelu Alleluia
But by every word
That proceeds from the mouth of God
Allelu Alleluia
Ask and it shall be
given unto you
Seek and ye shall find
Knock and the door shall be opened unto you
Allelu Alleluia
Seek and ye shall find
Knock and the door shall be opened unto you
Allelu Alleluia

Dear little children, let us acknowledge our
sins,
and so prepare ourselves to celebrate the sacred
mysteries.
Confession of our sins

God,
and to you, my brothers

that I have greatly sinned
in my thoughts and in my

in what I have done and In
what I have failed to do

through my fault

through my most grievous
fault
THEREFORE I ask Blessed

and you, my brothers and
sisters
to pray for me to the Lord
our God
Have Mercy on us oh Lord
For we have sinned against
you.
Show us, Oh Lord, your mercy
And grant us your
salvation.
You were sent to heal the contrite
of heart.
Lord have Mercy

You came to sinners

You are seated at the right hand of
the father to intercede for us.

Liturgy of the Word
Today’s
first reading is from the Old Testament, the book of Samuel. (1 Sam 26:2, 7-9,
12-13, 22-23) Do you remember the story
of David? The shepherd David who became
king? Today’s reading tells about
something that happened between David and the king of the Israelites, The
king’s name was Saul – not the same Saul who became the Apostle Paul. David respected Saul. Listen to the story and hear how David acted
like a servant of God.
A prepared child comes and takes the first
reading or second reading.
1 Sam 26:2, 7-9, 12-13, 22-23
David finds Soul sleeping.
In those days, Saul went down to the desert of Ziph
with three thousand picked men of Israel,
to search for David in the desert of Ziph.
So David and Abishai went among Saul’s soldiers by night and found Saul lying asleep within the barricade,
with three thousand picked men of Israel,
to search for David in the desert of Ziph.
So David and Abishai went among Saul’s soldiers by night and found Saul lying asleep within the barricade,
with his spear thrust into the ground at his head and Abner and his men sleeping around
him.
Abishai whispered to David:
“God has delivered your enemy into your grasp this day.
Abishai whispered to David:
“God has delivered your enemy into your grasp this day.
Let me nail him to the ground with one thrust of the spear; I will not need a second thrust!”
But David said to Abishai,
But David said to Abishai,
“Do not harm him,
for who can lay hands on the LORD’s anointed and remain unpunished?”
So David took the spear and the water jug from their place at Saul’s head, and they got away without anyone’s seeing or knowing or awakening.
All remained asleep,
because the LORD had put them into a deep slumber.
Going across to an opposite slope,
David stood on a remote hilltop at a great distance from Abner, son of Ner, and the troops.
He said: “Here is the king’s spear.
Let an attendant come over to get it.
The LORD will reward each man for his justice and faithfulness.
Today, though the LORD delivered you into my grasp, I would not harm the LORD’s anointed.”
for who can lay hands on the LORD’s anointed and remain unpunished?”
“This is the word of the Lord”
All say “Thanks
be to God”.
Ask: What
did you hear that surprised you? Do you
think it was easy for David to spare Saul’s life? David’s action was merciful and produced
peace for the people..
Let
us focus on our responsorial Psalm:
< The Lord is kind and
merciful…>3x
Introduce
the Gospel
Today’s Gospel reading comes from the book of
Luke. (Lk 6:27-37) In today’s Gospel, Luke tells us about some
of the things Jesus had to say about love and kindness. Jesus talks about forgiveness and behaving in
such a way that produces peace. See if
you can hear anything that sounds a little bit strange to you.
Let us welcome the Gospel:
..with
Alleluia!! - OR
Welcome the Gospel
through a song.
Chorus:
Halleluiah, Halleluiah x3 Yelele yelele Halleluiah.

Halleluiah
Silently a leader say; Cleanse my heart and my
lips, almighty God, that I may worthily proclaim your Holy Gospel.
The Lord be
with You,
AND with your Spirit.
The Gospel Reading was taken from the book of(Lk 6:27-37)
Let
Lord’s Word be in my mind <make
a cross on forehead>, and on my lips <make a cross
on lips>, and
in my heart <make
a cross on the left side of the chest>
OR
Glory
to You Lord Jesus Christ.
Luke 6:27-37
Jesus Teaches.
Jesus said to his disciples:
“To you who hear I say,
love your enemies, do good to those who hate you,
bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you.
To the person who strikes you on one cheek,
offer the other one as well,
and from the person who takes your cloak,
do not withhold even your tunic.
Give to everyone who asks of you,
and from the one who takes what is yours do not demand it back.
Do to others as you would have them do to you.
For if you love those who love you,
what credit is that to you?
Even sinners love those who love them.
And if you do good to those who do good to you,
what credit is that to you?
Even sinners do the same.
If you lend money to those from whom you expect repayment,
what credit is that to you?
Even sinners lend to sinners,
and get back the same amount.
But rather, love your enemies and do good to them,
and lend expecting nothing back;
then your reward will be great
and you will be children of the Most High,
for he himself is kind to the ungrateful and the wicked.
Be merciful, just as your Father is merciful.
“Stop judging and you will not be judged.
Stop condemning and you will not be condemned.
Forgive and you will be forgiven.
“To you who hear I say,
love your enemies, do good to those who hate you,
bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you.
To the person who strikes you on one cheek,
offer the other one as well,

The Gospel of the Lord”
All say; Glory and praise
to you Lord, Jesus Christ.

(*)Tell an interesting story according to the Gospel and
children’s level of understanding.
Gospel reflection:
Ask: Did
you hear anything surprising? How about
“love your enemies”? Does that make any
sense to you? Why would Jesus say
anything like that?
Explain: God tells us to treat others the way we would
like to be treated. So if we are kind to
others, He will be kind to us. If we
forgive others, He will forgive us.
Let
us stand up and we profess our faith.
Profession
of our faith
I believe in God the Father, Almighty,
creator of heaven and earth:
And in Jesus Christ, his only begotten Son, our
Lord:
--bow
down--
Who was conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit,
born of the Virgin Mary:
Suffered under Pontius Pilate;
was crucified, died and was buried:
He descended into hell:
The third day, He rose again from the dead:
He ascended into heaven,
and sits at the right hand of God the Father
Almighty:
From there He will come to judge the leaving and
the
dead:
I believe in the Holy Spirit:
the holy catholic church:
the communion of saints:
The forgiveness of sins:
The resurrection of the body:
And the life everlasting.
Amen.
