You are welcome Lord of Lords

You are welcome King of Kings

You are welcome Lord of Hosts

You are welcome Prince of Peace

====  7:00 - 7:03 ====

Welcome: Today is the Twentieth Sunday in Ordinary Time.

Sometimes when we really follow Jesus’ law of love, it is hard.  Others around us, even in our family sometimes, won’t always follow the path of love and forgiveness. When we do something different, it divides us from others.  Jesus knows that following Him can be difficult!

Focus: Memory Verse

Luke 12:49“.. “I came to set the earth on  fire”...”

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

May The Grace of our Lord Jesus Christ,

And the love of God,

And the fellowship of the Holy Spirit,

be with you all.

And with Your Spirit.

Dear little children, let us acknowledge our sins,

and so prepare ourselves to celebrate the sacred mysteries.

Confession of our sins

I confess to the Almighty God,

and to you, my brothers and sisters,

that I have greatly sinned

in my thoughts and in my words

in what I have done and In what I have failed to do

-strike the breast 3 times as you say-

through my fault

through my fault

through my most grievous fault

THEREFORE I ask Blessed Mary Ever Virgin

all the Angels and Saints

and you, my brothers and sisters

to pray for me to the Lord our God

Have Mercy on us oh Lord

For we have sinned against you

Show us, Oh Lord, your mercy

And grant us your salvation

You were sent to heal the contrite of heart

Lord have Mercy

Lord have Mercy

You came to sinners

Christ have mercy

Christ have mercy

You are seated at the right hand of the father to intercede for us.

Lord have mercy2

Lord have mercy

May the almighty God have mercy on us, forgive us our sins and bring us to life everlasting

Liturgy of the Word

In Today’s 1st reading, Jeremiah was a prophet who did what God asked him to do.  Some of the people who heard him didn’t like what he had to say.  Let’s listen closely to find out what they did to Jeremiah.

Today’s first reading is from the old Testament book of

Jeremiah 38:4-6, 8-10

Then the officials said to the king, “This man ought to be put to death, because he is discouraging the soldiers who are left in this city, and all the people, by speaking such words to them. For this man is not seeking the welfare of this people, but their harm.” King Zedekiah said, “Here he is; he is in your hands; for the king is powerless against you.” So they took Jeremiah and threw him into the cistern of Malchiah, the king’s son, which was in the court of the guard, letting Jeremiah down by ropes. Now there was no water in the cistern, but only mud, and Jeremiah sank in the mud.

So Ebed-melech left the king’s house and spoke to the king, “My lord king, these men have acted wickedly in all they did to the prophet Jeremiah by throwing him into the cistern to die there of hunger, for there is no bread left in the city.”10 Then the king commanded Ebed-melech the Ethiopian,[a] “Take three men with you from here, and pull the prophet Jeremiah up from the cistern before he dies.”

This is the word of the Lord,

Praise be to God.

Responsorial Psalm

Lord, come to my aid! Introducing the Gospel

In the Gospel today, Jesus tells us that he didn’t come to earth to bring us peace.  He came to make changes but changes are hard for us. Why might we have to change in order to love others?  <because sometimes we are selfish and think only of ourselves, or sometimes we have to learn to be nice to ourselves as well as others>

With Alleluia!!, let’s welcome the Gospel.!!

Alle-lu Alle-lu Alle-lu Alle-lluia,

Lets praise the Lord,

Alle-lu Alle-lu Alle-lu Alle-lluia,

Lets praise the Lord,

Alle-luia, Lets Praise the Lord

Alle-luia, Lets Praise the Lord

Alle..lluia Lets praise the Lord!!!

Silently children are singing, say:” Cleanse my heart and my lips, almighty God, that I may worthily proclaim your Holy Gospel to your little children.

The Lord be with You,

AND with your Spirit

The Gospel reading comes from the book of Luke 12:49-53..”(GNT)

Jesus the Cause of Division

49 “I came to set the earth on fire, and how I wish it were already kindled! 50 I have a baptism to receive, and how distressed I am until it is over! 51 Do you suppose that I came to bring peace to the world? No, not peace, but division.52 From now on a family of five will be divided, three against two and two against three. 53 Fathers will be against their sons, and sons against their fathers; mothers will be against their daughters, and daughters against their mothers; mothers-in-law will be against their daughters-in-law, and daughters-in-law against their mothers-in-law.”

 “The Gospel of the Lord”,

“Praise to you Lord Jesus Christ”

(*)Tell an interesting story according to the Gospel and children’s level of understanding like in the Gospel reflection:

====  7:24 - 7:27 ====

Gospel Reflection.

Say; Today’s message is a little different than we usually hear. Usually we talk about how great love is and how we all agree that loving others is the way to live.  Today we have the message that it is hard to love like Jesus did...  Can you think of a time in your life when it is hard to live Jesus’ law of love and forgiveness?  {<when someone else hurts your feelings, when you are angry>}

Ask the Holy Spirit to guide you to do the right thing in the coming week.

Profession of our faith

I believe in God the Father, Almighty,

Creator of heaven and earth:

And in Jesus Christ, his only begotten Son, our Lord: --bow down--

Who was conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit,

born of the Virgin Mary:

Suffered under Pontius Pilate;

was crucified, died and was buried:

He descended into hell:

And the third day He rose again from the dead: He ascended into heaven,

and seated at the right hand of God the Father Almighty:

From there He shall come again to judge the living and the dead:

I believe in the Holy Spirit:

the holy catholic church:

the communion of saints:

The forgiveness of sins:

The resurrection of the body:

And the life everlasting.

Amen.
