Penitential Rite
Dear little children, let us acknowledge our
sins,
and so prepare ourselves to celebrate the sacred
mysteries.
Confession of our sins
I confess to the Almighty
God,
and to you, my brothers and
sisters,
that I have greatly sinned
in my thoughts and in my
words
in what I have done and In
what I have failed to do
-strike
the breast 3 times as you say-
through my fault
through my fault
through my most grievous
fault
THEREFORE I ask Blessed
Mary Ever Virgin
all the Angels and Saints
and you, my brothers and
sisters
to pray for me to the Lord
our God
Have Mercy on us oh Lord
For we have sinned against
you.
Show us, Oh Lord, your mercy
And grant us your
salvation.
You were sent to heal the contrite
of heart.
Lord have Mercy
Lord have Mercy
You came to sinners
Christ have mercy
Christ have mercy
You are seated at the right hand of
the father to intercede for us.
Lord have mercy.
Lord have mercy.
May the almighty God have mercy on us, forgive us our
sins and bring us to life everlasting?
AMEN

Liturgy of the Word
First Reading, Introduce the reading.
Say: Today’s first reading is
from the Old Testament, the book of Wisdom.
Explain: First of all, does
anybody know what the word WISDOM means? <Knowledge, being able
to understand> this reading compares wisdom to
Treasure. Let’s see if we can understand what that might mean.
A
prepared child comes and takes the first reading or second reading.
The first reading
today is taken from the letter of Amos 8:4-7(GNT)
Israel's Doom
4 Listen to this, you
that trample on the needy and try to destroy the poor of the country. 5 You say to
yourselves, “We can hardly wait for the holy days to be over so that we can
sell our grain. When will the Sabbath end, so that we can start selling again?
Then we can overcharge, use false measures, and fix the scales to cheat our
customers. 6 We
can sell worthless wheat at a high price. We'll find someone poor who can't pay
his debts, not even the price of a pair of sandals, and we'll buy him as a
slave.”
7 The Lord,
the God of Israel, has sworn, “I will never forget their evil deeds.
“This is the word of the
Lord”
All say “Thanks be to God”.
Let
us focus on our responsorial Psalm:
< Praise the Lord who lifts up the poor.!...>3x.
Introduce the Gospel
Say: In
this passage from Luke, Jesus talks about trust. What is trust? <believing in someone> How do you know
when you can trust someone? <when
they do what they say they will do, when they keep their promises> Jesus wants us to be trustworthy people. He wants others to be able to trust us. Do you think it is easy to always keep your
promises? Let’s listen to what Jesus
says about people who can be trusted.
Welcoming the Gospel
..with Alleluia!! - OR
Welcome the Gospel through a song.
Chorus:
Halle, halle,
halle-lu-jah!
Halle, halle,
halle-lu-jah!
Halle, halle,
halle-lu-jah! Hallelujah! Hallelujah!
!!
Silently say: ”Cleanse my heart and my lips, almighty God, that I may
worthily proclaim your Holy Gospel.
The Lord be
with You,
AND
with your Spirit.
The Gospel
Reading was
written by Luke 16:10-13Good News Translation (GNT)
Let Lord’s Word be in my mind <make a cross on
forehead>,
and on my lips <make a cross on lips>, and in my heart <make a cross on the
left side of the chest>
*OR
Glory to
You O Lord
Luke 16:10-13 (GNT)
10 Whoever is faithful
in small matters will be faithful in large ones; whoever is dishonest in small
matters will be dishonest in large ones. 11 If, then, you have
not been faithful in handling worldly wealth, how can you be trusted with true
wealth?12 And
if you have not been faithful with what belongs to someone else, who will give
you what belongs to you?
13 “No servant can be
the slave of two masters; such a slave will hate one and love the other or will
be loyal to one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money.”
The Gospel of
the Lord”
“Praise to you
Lord Jesus Christ”
==== 7:19 - 7:24 ====
(*)Tell an interesting story according to the Gospel and
children’s level of understanding like in the
Gospel reflection:
Ask: What did Jesus say? <discuss> Did He say that you can be trustworthy about some things but not others? <no, you must keep all your promises- even the little ones> Do you think that it will take some effort to be truly trustworthy?<Yes>
Say: Jesus said that you cannot serve two
masters. He spoke about
choosing between serving God and serving money. What do you think that means? <it means that you have to decide
which is more important – the things that God wants or the things that we
want>
Let us stand up and
we profess our faith.
Profession
of our faith
I believe in God the Father, Almighty,
creator of heaven and earth:
And in Jesus Christ, his only begotten Son, our
Lord:
--bow
down--
Who was conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit,
born of the Virgin Mary:
Suffered under Pontius Pilate;
was crucified, died and was buried:
He descended into hell:
The third day he rose again from the dead:
He ascended into heaven,
and sits at the right hand of God the Father
Almighty:
From there He will come to judge the leaving and
the
dead:
I believe in the Holy Spirit:
the holy catholic church:
the communion of saints:
The forgiveness of sins:
The resurrection of the body:
And the life everlasting.
Amen.

Prayers of the Faithful
Now is the time to pray for our stuff :-)Intercessions.
You may want to ask the children to offer their
own prayers or you can use the suggestions below.
Jesus asked us to put God first so in God's name we
pray together...
Prayer 1. Let
us pray for the Holy Catholic Church, for Pope Francis, for Dr. Kizito Cyprian
Lwanga our arch Bishop, and for all bishops, priests, deacons, laymen and
women, that they would be guided by the Holy Spirit and may always put God's
love for the world first, and humbly serve God in all that they do. We pray
to the Lord...
Prayer 2 . Let us pray for
the leaders of the nations, especially Uganda, that they would act with love,
kindness, and peace, and work together for the good of all, as they share what they
have with their people, so that all may have enough to live.
We pray to the Lord..
Prayer 3. Let us pray for our local community and its needs:
that we may make sure that God is the center to everything we do and we would
act as witnesses to the love and mercy of Christ. For all those who are sick,
heal them dear Lord, and for the souls of the departed, Eternal rest grant unto
them oh Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon them.
We pray to the Lord...
Prayer 4. Let us pray for our dear Parents; O Almighty
God, you gave us the commandment to honor our father and mother, In your loving
kindness, hear our prayer for our parents. Give them long lives, and keep them
well in body and spirit. Bless their labours; keep them always in your care.
Bless them generously for their loving care for us. Grant that, through your
Grace, we may always be their support and comfort, We pray to the Lord...
Prayer 5. And for all of us gathered here, let us pray that
we may be open to listen to Jesus in our lives, not run away when things are
difficult, but may look for what we can do in Jesus’s name, so He may grant us
all we ask of Him because He loves us and we shall become great in His Kingdom.
We Pray to the Lord…..
==== 7:26 - 7:28 ====
Silently, each one tell God your petition.
We ask this through our Lord Jesus Christ your Son,
who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit,
One God, for ever and ever.
Amen
