Penitential Rite
Dear little children, let us acknowledge our sins,
and so prepare ourselves to celebrate the sacred mysteries.
Confession of our sins
I confess to the Almighty God,
and to you, my brothers and sisters,
that I have greatly sinned
in my thoughts and in my words
in what I have done and In what I have failed to do
-strike the
breast 3 times as you say-
through my fault
through my fault
through my most grievous fault
THEREFORE I ask Blessed Mary Ever Virgin
all the Angels and Saints
and you, my brothers and sisters
to pray for me to the Lord our God
Have
Mercy on us oh Lord
For we have sinned against you
Show
us, Oh Lord, your mercy
And grant us your salvation
You were sent to heal the contrite of heart
Lord have Mercy
Lord have Mercy
You came to sinners
Christ have mercy
Christ have mercy
You are seated at the right hand of the father to
intercede for us.
Lord have mercy
Lord have mercy
May the almighty God have mercy on us, forgive us our
sins and bring us to life everlasting
AMEN

Liturgy of the Word
First Reading
Today’s first
reading is from the Hebrew Scriptures, the Book of Genesis.
Now give to
the child to start reading the first reading below.
Today’s
first reading is from the first New Testament book of
Genesis 14:18-20 (ICB)
18
Melchizedek king of Salem also went to meet Abram. Melchizedek was a priest for
God Most High. He brought bread and wine. 19 Melchizedek blessed Abram and
said,
“Abram,
may God Most High give you blessings.
God made heaven and earth.
20
And we praise God Most High.
He has helped you to defeat your enemies.”
Then
Abram gave Melchizedek a tenth of everything he had brought back from the
battle.
The word of the Lord, …
Responsorial Psalm
You are a priest for ever, in the line of
Melchizedek.
Introducing
the Gospel
Today’s
reading is a story that many of you will remember. It is about a miracle where Jesus did something
to take care of a lot of people. Let’s
see how many of you have heard this one before.
..with
Alleluia!! -
Welcoming the Gospel
Halle, halle,
hallee-lu-jah!
Halle, halle,
hallee-lu-jah!
Halle, halle,
hallee-lu-jah!
Hallelujah! Hallelujah!
Silently say:” Cleanse my heart
and my lips, almighty God, that I may worthily proclaim your Holy Gospel to
your little children.
The Lord be with You,
AND with your Spirit
The Gospel reading is from the book of...”
Luke 9:11-17 (ICB)
11 But the people learned where Jesus
went and followed him. Jesus welcomed them and talked with them about God’s
kingdom. He healed those who needed to be healed.
12 Late in the
afternoon, the 12 apostles came to Jesus and said, “No one lives in this place.
Send the people away. They need to find food and places to sleep in the towns
and countryside around here.”
13 But Jesus said to
them, “You give them
something to eat.”
They said, “We have
only five loaves of bread and two fish. Do you want us to go buy food for all
these people?” 14 (There were about
5,000 men there.)
Jesus said to his
followers, “Tell the people to sit in groups of
about 50 people.”
15 So the followers
did this, and all the people sat down. 16 Then Jesus took the
five loaves of bread and two fish. He looked up to heaven and thanked God for
the food. Then Jesus divided the food and gave it to the followers to give to
the people. 17 All the people ate
and were satisfied. And there was much food left. Twelve baskets were filled
with pieces of food that were not eaten.
“The Gospel of the Lord”,
“Praise to you Lord Jesus
Christ”
(*)Tell an interesting story
according to the Gospel
and children’s level of understanding like in the Gospel reflection:
==== 7:24 - 7:27 ====
Gospel Reflection.
What
happened? What exactly did Jesus
do? <discuss> Can anyone tell me what hunger is?
<response> Does hunger have to be
for food?
Say: Being hungry means that a person really
needs something, something very important.
Sometimes a person might be hungry for a friend…. Or a hug…. Can you
think of something else a person might really need… that they might be hungry
for? <discuss> If we let him, Jesus satisfies our hunger for
love.
Ask the Holy Spirit to
guide you to do the right thing in the coming week.
Profession
of our faith
I
believe in God the Father, Almighty,
Creator
of heaven and earth:
And
in Jesus Christ, his only begotten Son, our Lord: --bow down--
Who
was conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit,
born
of the Virgin Mary:
Suffered
under Pontius Pilate;
was
crucified, died and was buried:
He
descended into hell:
And
the third day He rose again from the dead: He ascended into heaven,
and
seated at the right hand of God the Father Almighty:
From
there He shall come again to judge the living and the dead:
I
believe in the Holy Spirit:
the
holy catholic church:
the
communion of saints:
The
forgiveness of sins:
The
resurrection of the body:
And
the life everlasting.
Amen.
