think some more about this now...

Penitential Rite
Dear little children, let us acknowledge our sins,
and so prepare ourselves to celebrate the sacred mysteries.
Confession of our sins
I confess to the Almighty God,
and to you, my brothers and sisters,
that I have greatly sinned
in my thoughts and in my words
in what I have done and In what I have failed to do
-strike the breast 3 times as you say-
through my fault
through my fault
through my most grievous fault
THEREFORE I ask Blessed Mary Ever Virgin
all the Angels and Saints
and you, my brothers and sisters
to pray for me to the Lord our God

Have Mercy on us oh Lord
For we have sinned against you.

Show us, Oh Lord, your mercy
And grant us your salvation.

You were sent to heal the contrite of heart.
Lord have Mercy
Lord have Mercy

You came to sinners
Christ have mercy
Christ have mercy

You are seated at the right hand of the father to intercede for us.
Lord have mercy.
Lord have mercy.
May the almighty God have mercy on us, forgive us our sins and bring us to life everlasting?
AMEN

Christ our Lord,. Amen.

Liturgy of the Word
First Reading, Introduce the reading.
Say: Today’s first reading is from the Old Testament, the book of Habakkuk.
Explain: Habakkuk also asked a lot of questions.  He didn’t understand all the things that happened in this world. Let’s listen while Habakkuk asks some questions of God and see what kind of answer he gets.
A prepared child comes and takes the first reading or second reading.

Habakkuk 1:2-3 (GNT)

Habakkuk Complains of Injustice

O Lord, how long must I call for help before you listen, before you save us from violence? Why do you make me see such trouble? How can you stand to look on such wrongdoing? Destruction and violence are all around me, and there is fighting and quarrelling everywhere.

2:2-4

The Lord gave me this answer: “Write down clearly on tablets what I reveal to you, so that it can be read at a glance.Put it in writing, because it is not yet time for it to come true. But the time is coming quickly, and what I show you will come true. It may seem slow in coming, but wait for it; it will certainly take place, and it will not be delayed. And this is the message: ‘Those who are evil will not survive,[a] but those who are righteous will live because they are faithful to God.’”

This is the word of the Lord
All say “Thanks be to God”.

Let us focus on our responsorial Psalm:
< If today you hear his voice, harden not your hearts.….>3x.
Introduce the Gospel

Today’s Gospel reading comes from the book of St. Luke.  (Luke 17:5-0)  At the time of this reading, Jesus’ disciples were becoming afraid. They believed in Jesus and his message of love but they were beginning to be afraid because of the way that others treated them.  They wanted Jesus to give them more faith.

 Welcoming the Gospel
..with Alleluia!! - OR
Welcome the Gospel through a song.
Chorus:
Halle, halle, halle-lu-jah! Halle, halle, halle-lu-jah! Halle, halle, halle-lu-jah! Hallelujah! Hallelujah!!!
Silently say: ”Cleanse my heart and my lips, almighty God, that I may worthily proclaim your Holy Gospel.
The Lord be with You,
AND with your Spirit.

The Gospel Reading was written by Luke 16:19-31

 (GNT)

Glory to You, O Lord

Luke 17:5-10 (GNT)

Faith

The apostles said to the Lord, “Make our faith greater.”
The Lord answered, “If you had faith as big as a mustard seed, you could say to this mulberry tree, ‘Pull yourself up by the roots and plant yourself in the sea!’ and it would obey you.

A Servant's Duty

“Suppose one of you has a servant who is plowing or looking after the sheep. When he comes in from the field, do you tell him to hurry along and eat his meal? Of course not! Instead, you say to him, ‘Get my supper ready, then put on your apron and wait on me while I eat and drink; after that you may have your meal.’ The servant does not deserve thanks for obeying orders, does he? 10 It is the same with you; when you have done all you have been told to do, say, ‘We are ordinary servants; we have only done our duty.’”
The Gospel of the Lord”

“Praise to you Lord Jesus Christ”
  ====  7:19 - 7:24 ====
(*)Tell an interesting story according to the Gospel and children’s level of understanding like in the
Gospel reflection:

Ask:  The servants’ job is to serve the master.  What is our job as Christians?  <to believe in Jesus>  Is that always an easy thing to do?  Why or why not?  <no… because there are a lot of unhappy things going on in the world that we don’t understand – and we believe that Jesus could change all that>

Say: When the tiny mustard seed is watered and cared for, it becomes a huge tree.  If your FAITH is a seed, how big can your faith grow if you take care of it?  <bigger than we can imagine>  FAITH is not something that someone can give you – it is something that you must build by yourself. Like a baby believing to be received by an adult.

Ask: What are some things you can do to take care of your faith and help it grow?  <pray, talk to others about it, read the bible and other holy books, go to Mass, go to religious education classes>

Let us stand up and we profess our faith.

Profession of our faith
I believe in God the Father, Almighty,
creator of heaven and earth:
And in Jesus Christ, his only begotten Son, our Lord:
                  --bow down--
Who was conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit,
born of the Virgin Mary:
Suffered under Pontius Pilate;
was crucified, died and was buried:
He descended into hell:
The third day he rose again from the dead:
He ascended into heaven,
and sits at the right hand of God the Father Almighty:
From there He will come to judge the leaving  and the
dead:
I believe in the Holy Spirit:
the holy catholic church:
the communion of saints:
The forgiveness of sins:
The resurrection of the body:
And the life everlasting.
Amen.

Prayers of the Faithful
Now is the time to pray for our stuff :-)Intercessions.
You may want to ask the children to offer their own prayers or you can use the suggestions below.

We know that everything is possible with faith and God’s help, and so we pray together:

Prayer 1. Let us pray for the Holy Catholic Church, and her leaders, to always bring hope in all God’s people and remind them to always have faith. We pray to the Lord...

Prayer 2 . Let us pray for the leaders of nations: that they may continue to learn, grow food and build a better future for all their people.
We pray to the Lord..

Prayer 3. We pray for our parish, families and friends: that we may have the faith and courage to try to build a brighter world so that it becomes a better place for all to live. We pray to the Lord...

Prayer 4. Let us pray to our Lord we little children, to give us the courage to try to make a change to our world, no matter how small, and the faith to know that with Him, all things are possible. We pray to the Lord...

====  7:26 - 7:28 ====

Silently, each one tell God your petition.

We ask this through our Lord Jesus Christ your Son,
who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit,
