Praise Him Praise Him
Praise Him! Praise Him! Jesus, our blessed Redeemer!

Hail Him! Hail Him! Highest archangels in glory;
Strength and honor give to His holy Name!
Like a shepherd, Jesus will guard His children,
In His arms He carries them all day long.
Refrain:
Praise Him! Praise Him! Tell of His excellent greatness;
Praise Him! Praise Him! Ever in joyful song!

Ask: Last week’s theme was <Sight.”> We talked about different kinds of blindness and the miracles Jesus performed.  We learned how hard we need to work to continually ‘see’ God’s goodness all around us.

Welcome; : Today we hear about an amazing thing that Jesus does when his friend Lazarus becomes sick and dies. Let’s think a bit more about this today. We also know it will be Palm Sunday next week it is the day when we get new palms for next year.
//V// In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit,
 //R// Amen.
//V// May The Grace of our Lord Jesus Christ,
And the love of God,
And the fellowship of the Holy Spirit,
be with you all.
//R//  And with Your Spirit.

Penitential Rite
Dear little children, let us acknowledge our sins,
and so prepare ourselves to celebrate the sacred mysteries.
Confession of our sins
I confess to the Almighty God,
and to you, my brothers and sisters,
that I have greatly sinned
in my thoughts and in my words
in what I have done and In what I have failed to do
          -strike the breast 3 times as you say-
through my fault
through my fault
through my most grievous fault
THEREFORE I ask Blessed Mary Ever Virgin
all the Angels and Saints
and you, my brothers and sisters
to pray for me to the Lord our God

Have Mercy on us oh Lord
For we have sinned against you.
Show us, Oh Lord, your mercy
And grant us your salvation.

You were sent to heal the contrite of heart.
Lord have Mercy
Lord have Mercy

You came to sinners
Christ have mercy
Christ have mercy

You are seated at the right hand of the father to intercede for us.
Lord have mercy.
Lord have mercy.
May the almighty God have mercy on us, forgive us our sins and bring us to life everlasting?
AMEN

Liturgy of the Word

Introduce the first reading.
Today’s first reading is from the Old Testament book of the prophet Ezekiel. In this reading, God is talking to prophet Ezekiel.  He is talking about people living again.  Listen closely and see if you can understand what He really means.
A prepared child/children come and take the first reading or second reading.

First Reading is from the book of
Ezekiel 37:12-14 (NRSVCE)

12 Therefore prophesy, and say to them, thus says the Lord God: I am going to open your graves, and bring you up from your graves, O my people; and I will bring you back to the land of Israel. 13 And you shall know that I am the Lord, when I open your graves, and bring you up from your graves, O my people. 14 I will put my spirit within you, and you shall live, and I will place you on your own soil; then you shall know that I, the Lord, have spoken and will act, says the Lord.”

 This is the word of the Lord”

All say “Thanks be to God”.

Ask:  Do you think a lot of people are really going to be brought out of graves?  <do we really know?> Its clear, God said, we shall all receive God’s spirit and make new lives...
Say: Let us focus on our responsorial Psalm:

With the Lord there is mercy and fullness of redemption....>3x

Introduce the Gospel
Say:  Today’s Gospel reading comes from the book of John. St. John uses this reading to tell us about a time when Jesus actually did raise a good friend of His from the dead.  Jesus had a friend named Lazarus, the brother of two other friends that you have probably heard of – Martha and Mary.  Lazarus got sick and died.  He had already been buried for four days before Jesus arrived.
....
Now we will stand to get ready to hear the Gospel
..with No Alleluia!! –J J
In lent period, we shall not sing the ALLELUIA, BECAUSE it’s a time for us to reflect to be extra silent in our life style. Sing a song without Alleluia.

Silently say: Cleanse my heart and my lips, almighty God, that I may worthily proclaim your Holy Gospel.

The Leader starts: The Lord be with You,
And with your Spirit.
A reading is from the Holy Gospel according to St. John.
Glory to You, O Lord

John 11:3-7, 17, 20-27, 31-45.  (NRSVCE)
3 So the sisters sent a message to Jesus,[a] “Lord, he whom you love is ill.” 4 But when Jesus heard it, he said, “This illness does not lead to death; rather it is for God’s glory, so that the Son of God may be glorified through it.” 5 Accordingly, though Jesus loved Martha and her sister and Lazarus, 6 after having heard that Lazarus was ill, he stayed two days longer in the place where he was.
7 Then after this he said to the disciples, “Let us go to Judea again.”
Jesus the Resurrection and the Life
17 When Jesus arrived, he found that Lazarus had already been in the tomb four days.
20 When Martha heard that Jesus was coming, she went and met him, while Mary stayed at home. 21 Martha said to Jesus, “Lord, if you had been here, my brother would not have died. 22 But even now I know that God will give you whatever you ask of him.” 23 Jesus said to her, “Your brother will rise again.” 24 Martha said to him, “I know that he will rise again in the resurrection on the last day.” 25 Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. Those who believe in me, even though they die, will live, 26 and everyone who lives and believes in me will never die. Do you believe this?” 27 She said to him, “Yes, Lord, I believe that you are the Messiah, the Son of God, the one coming into the world.”
31 The Jews who were with her in the house, consoling her, saw Mary get up quickly and go out. They followed her because they thought that she was going to the tomb to weep there. 32 When Mary came where Jesus was and saw him, she knelt at his feet and said to him, “Lord, if you had been here, my brother would not have died.” 33 When Jesus saw her weeping, and the Jews who came with her also weeping, he was greatly disturbed in spirit and deeply moved. 34 He said, “Where have you laid him?” They said to him, “Lord, come and see.” 35 Jesus began to weep. 36 So the Jews said, “See how he loved him!” 37 But some of them said, “Could not he who opened the eyes of the blind man have kept this man from dying?”
Jesus Raises Lazarus to Life
38 Then Jesus, again greatly disturbed, came to the tomb. It was a cave, and a stone was lying against it. 39 Jesus said, “Take away the stone.” Martha, the sister of the dead man, said to him, “Lord, already there is a stench because he has been dead four days.” 40 Jesus said to her, “Did I not tell you that if you believed, you would see the glory of God?” 41 So they took away the stone. And Jesus looked upward and said, “Father, I thank you for having heard me. 42 I knew that you always hear me, but I have said this for the sake of the crowd standing here, so that they may believe that you sent me.” 43 When he had said this, he cried with a loud voice, “Lazarus, come out!” 44 The dead man came out, his hands and feet bound with strips of cloth, and his face wrapped in a cloth. Jesus said to them, “Unbind him, and let him go.”
The Plot to Kill Jesus
45 Many of the Jews therefore, who had come with Mary and had seen what Jesus did, believed in him.
The Gospel of the Lord”
“Praise to you Lord Jesus Christ”

====  7:19 - 7:24 ====
(*) Tell your prepared reflecting story to motivate the children, but according to the Gospel and children’s level of understanding like in the suggestions below…

Gospel reflection:

Ask: What happened?  <let the children retell what they heard>  What does this mean?  <it means that Jesus is stronger than death, it reminds us Easter, that He will soon die and rise again Himself>  This story reminds us one more time to place our trust in Jesus!

Memory Verse: “John 11:25( Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. Those who believe in me, even though they die, will live.)

Let us stand up and we profess our faith.

Profession of our faith
I believe in God the Father, Almighty,
creator of heaven and earth:
And in Jesus Christ, his only begotten Son, our Lord:
         --bow down--
Who was conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary:
Suffered under Pontius Pilate;
was crucified, died and was buried:
He descended into hell:
The third day he rose again from the dead:
He ascended into heaven,
and sits at the right hand of God the Father Almighty:
From there He will come to judge the living and the dead:
I believe in the Holy Spirit:
the holy catholic church:
the communion of saints:
The forgiveness of sins:
The resurrection of the body:
And the life everlasting.
Amen.
