The sun gives
warmth, it gives light, we need it to live> The sun comes up in the morning

In the same way, Jesus rose from the dead! He left his tomb and became
better than new. So this is the day the Lord has made!

I confess to the Almighty God,

that I have greatly sinned
in my thoughts and in my words
in what I have done and In what I have failed to
do

through my most grievous fault
THEREFORE I ask Blessed Mary Ever Virgin
all the Angels and Saints
and you, my brothers and sisters
to pray for me to the Lord our God…
Have Mercy on us oh
Lord
For we have sinned against
you.
Show us, Oh Lord, your
mercy
And grant us your
salvation.
You were sent to heal the
contrite of heart.
Lord have Mercy
Lord have Mercy
You came to sinners
Christ have mercy
Christ have mercy
You are seated at the
right hand of the father to intercede for us.
Lord have mercy.

Liturgy of the Word
Introduce the first reading.
Today’s first reading is from the New Testament book
called the Acts of the Apostles. We start a season today where the sequence of
the readings changes a little. Instead of having an Old Testament reading
and a Gospel reading, we will have all New Testament readings through the Feast
of Pentecost. And today begins a time when we remember how difficult it
was for the Apostles right after Jesus’ death and resurrection, how hard it was
to build a new church. In this reading from Acts, we hear St. Peter
telling a man named Cornelius all about Jesus’ death and resurrection.
Listen closely and see if you hear anything new today.
A prepared child/children come and take the reading.
First Reading is from the book
of
Acts 10:34a, 37-43
Peter's Speech
34 Peter began
to speak: “I now realise that it is true that God treats everyone on the same
basis.
37 You know of
the great event that took place throughout the land of Israel, beginning in
Galilee after John preached his message of baptism. 38 You know about Jesus of
Nazareth and how God poured out on him the Holy Spirit and power. He went
everywhere, doing good and healing all who were under the power of the Devil,
for God was with him. 39 We are witnesses of everything that he did in the land
of Israel and in Jerusalem. Then they put him to death by nailing him to a
cross. 40 But God raised him from death three days later and caused him to
appear, 41 not to everyone, but only to the witnesses that God had already
chosen, that is, to us who ate and drank with him after he rose from death. 42
And he commanded us to preach the gospel to the people and to testify that he
is the one whom God has appointed judge of the living and the dead. 43 All the
prophets spoke about him, saying that all who believe in him will have their
sins forgiven through the power of his name.”
“This
is the word of the Lord”
All say “Thanks be to God”.
Simply Ask: Were you
surprised when Peter told Cornelius that
Jesus ate and drank with his friends after he died and rose again? Let
children give their views….
Say: Let us now focus on our responsorial Psalm:
< This is the day the Lord has made;
let us rejoice and be glad. ...>3x
Introduce the
Gospel
Say: Today’s Gospel reading
comes from the book of John. St. John
tells us about when Mary Magdalene went down to Jesus’ tomb on Easter morning. Let’s hear what he has to tell us.
....
...with Alleluia!! –
We sing while standing and
welcome the gospel!!
Alle-lu Alle-lu, Alle-lu Alle-lluia!!
Lets praise the Lord….
Alle-lu Alle-lu Alle-lu Alle-lluia!!,
Lets praise the Lord….
Alle-luia, Lets Praise the Lord!
Alle-luia, Lets Praise the Lord!
Alle..lluia Lets praise the Lord….!!!
The leader reading the gospel, silently
says: “Cleanse our hearts and our lips, almighty
God, that we may worthily proclaim your Holy Gospel”.
The Leader starts: The Lord be with You,
And with your Spirit.
A reading is from the Holy Gospel according to St. John.
Glory to You, O Lord
John 20:1-9(GNT)
The Empty Tomb20 Early on Sunday morning, while it was still dark, Mary Magdalene went to the tomb and saw that the stone had been taken away from the entrance. 2 She went running to Simon Peter and the other disciple, whom Jesus loved, and told them, “They have taken the Lord from the tomb, and we don't know where they have put him!”
3 Then Peter and the other
disciple went to the tomb. 4 The two of them were running, but the other
disciple ran faster than Peter and reached the tomb first. 5 He bent over and
saw the linen cloths, but he did not go in. 6 Behind him came Simon Peter, and
he went straight into the tomb. He saw the linen cloths lying there 7 and the
cloth which had been around Jesus' head. It was not lying with the linen cloths
but was rolled up by itself. 8 Then the other disciple, who had reached the
tomb first, also went in; he saw and believed. 9 They still did not understand
the scripture which said that he must rise from death.
The Gospel of the Lord”
“Praise to you
Lord Jesus Christ”
==== 7:19 - 7:24 ====
(*) Tell your prepared reflecting
story to motivate the children, but according to the Gospel and children’s level
of understanding like in the suggestions below…
Gospel
reflection:
Ask: What happened? <let the children retell what they heard>
How do you think that Simon Peter felt?
Explain: Jesus’ friends were still very sad when they
came to his tomb that morning. They must
have been even more confused when His body was missing. In the weeks that follow this one, Jesus
appeared in flesh and blood to his friends several times. They spent the weeks following Easter morning
trying to understand the message Jesus had for them (and for us!)
Memory Verse: “…, Mary
Magdalene went to the tomb and saw that the stone had been taken away from the
entrance...”
Let us stand up and we
profess our faith.
Profession of our faith
I
believe in God the Father, Almighty,
creator
of heaven and earth:
And
in Jesus Christ, his only begotten Son, our Lord:
--bow
down--
Who
was conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary:
Suffered
under Pontius Pilate;
was
crucified, died and was buried:
He
descended into hell:
The
third day he rose again from the dead:
He
ascended into heaven,
and
sits at the right hand of God the Father Almighty:
From
there He will come to judge the living and the dead:
I
believe in the Holy Spirit:
the
holy catholic church:
the
communion of saints:
The
forgiveness of sins:
The
resurrection of the body:
And
the life everlasting.
Amen.
==== 7:24 - 7:26 ====
