Penitential Rite
Dear little children, let us acknowledge our sins,
and so prepare ourselves to celebrate the sacred mysteries.
Confession of our
sins
I confess to the Almighty God,
and to you, my brothers and sisters,
that I have greatly sinned
in my thoughts and in my words
in what I have done and In what I have failed to do
-strike
the breast 3 times as you say-
through my fault
through my fault
through my most grievous fault
THEREFORE I ask Blessed Mary Ever Virgin
all the Angels and Saints
and you, my brothers and sisters
to pray for me to the Lord our God…
Have Mercy on us oh Lord
For we have sinned against you.
Show us, Oh Lord, your mercy
And grant us your salvation.
You were sent to heal the contrite of
heart.
Lord have Mercy
Lord have Mercy
You came to sinners
Christ have mercy
Christ have mercy
You are seated at the right hand of the
father to intercede for us.
Lord have mercy.
Lord have mercy.
May the almighty God have mercy on us,
forgive us our sins and bring us to life everlasting?
AMEN

Liturgy of the Word
Introduce the first reading.
In today’s first reading, prophet Jeremiah
shows that he has a lot of faith. See if
you can hear something in this reading that tells about Jeremiah’s faith in
God.
A prepared child/children come and take the reading.
Jeremiah 20:10-12a, 13 (NRSVCE)
10 For I hear many whispering:
“Terror is all
around!
Denounce him! Let us denounce him!”
All my close
friends
are watching for
me to stumble.
“Perhaps he can be enticed,
and we can prevail
against him,
and take our
revenge on him.”
11 But the Lord is with me like a dread warrior;
therefore my
persecutors will stumble,
and they will not
prevail.
They will be greatly ashamed,
for they will not
succeed.
Their eternal dishonor
will never be
forgotten.
12 O Lord of hosts, you test the righteous,
you see the heart
and the mind;
let me see your retribution upon them,
for to you I have
committed my cause..
“This is the word of the Lord”
All say “Thanks be to God”.
Ask: What did you hear that tells about Jeremiah’s strong faith? <he believed that God loved him and would
handle the people who were trying to trick him> He believed that if
he asked God for help, God would take care of him. >>
Say: Let
us now focus on our responsorial Psalm:
< Lord, in your great love, answer me>
3x
Introducing
the Gospel
Say: Today’s Gospel reading is taken from the book of Matthew (Matt
10:26–31). In the reading today, St.
Matthew tells us not to be afraid. He
tells us that God loves us so much that he will always take care of us.
...with Alleluia!! –
We sing while standing and
welcome the gospel!!
Yelele yelele Halleluiah. [G]
Chorus: Halleluiah, Halleluiah x3 Yelele yelele
Halleluiah.
1. Eyende mbele,
Halleluiah x3 Yelele yelele Halleluiah.
2. Moto, moto,
Halleluiah x3 Yelele yelele Halleluiah.
The leader reading the gospel, silently
says: “Cleanse our hearts and our lips almighty
God, that we may worthily proclaim your Holy Gospel”.
The Leader starts: The Lord be with You,
And with your Spirit.
A reading is from the Holy Gospel according to St. Matthew.
Glory to You, O Lord
Matthew 10:26-31 (NRSVCE)
Whom to Fear..
26 “So have no fear
of them; for nothing is covered up that will not be uncovered, and nothing
secret that will not become known. 27 What I say to
you in the dark, tell in the light; and what you hear whispered, proclaim from
the housetops. 28 Do not fear those
who kill the body but cannot kill the soul; rather fear him who can destroy
both soul and body in hell.[a] 29 Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? Yet not one
of them will fall to the ground apart from your Father. 30 And even the hairs of your head are all counted. 31 So do not be afraid; you are of more value than many
sparrows.
The Gospel of the Lord”
“Praise to you Lord
Jesus Christ”
==== 7:19 - 7:24 ====
(*) Tell your prepared reflecting story to motivate the children, but
according to the Gospel and children’s level of understanding like in the
suggestions below…
Gospel
reflection:
What
happened? <let the children retell
what they heard> Do you think that it
is always easy to have this much faith in God?
<why or why not>
Say: When we believe and trust in God, we are
filled with the light of God’s love. We
bring that light with us in our behavior and our attitudes. If he can take care
of the sparrows, then have faith in Him even when its so hard.
Memory
Verse: John 6:56
“28 Do not fear those
who kill the body but cannot kill the soul; rather fear Him who can destroy
both soul and body in hell.....”
Let us stand up and we profess our
faith.
Profession of our faith
I
believe in God the Father, Almighty,
creator
of heaven and earth:
And
in Jesus Christ, his only begotten Son, our Lord:
--bow
down--
Who
was conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary:
Suffered
under Pontius Pilate;
was
crucified, died and was buried:
He
descended into hell:
The
third day he rose again from the dead:
He
ascended into heaven,
and
sits at the right hand of God the Father Almighty:
From
there He will come to judge the living and the dead:
I
believe in the Holy Spirit:
the
holy catholic church:
the
communion of saints:
The
forgiveness of sins:
The
resurrection of the body:
And
the life everlasting.
Amen.
==== 7:24 - 7:26 ====

members of our global family with respect and love.. Amen.
