STAND
UP! STAND UP FOR JESUS,
Ye
soldiers of the cross!
Lift
high His royal banner,
It
must not suffer loss.
From
victory unto victory
His
army He shall lead,
Till
every foe is vanquished,
And
Christ is Lord indeed.
Stand
up, stand up for Jesus!
The
trumpet-call obey;
Forth
to the mighty conflict
In
this His glorious day!
Ye
that are His, now serve Him
Against
unnumbered foes;
Let
courage rise with danger,
And
strength to strength oppose.
Ask: What was last week’s theme <“Peace in
form of a Dove”>. Peace is one of the things that Jesus wished for all the members of his
church. He wanted us all to love one
another and to be reconciled with each other. Now in this Easter season, we are
waiting for something new> Does anyone know what that might be?
<Pentecost>
Welcome: We do not always understand things straight away, we need someone
to teach us and to explain to us all the different things that we see in the
world. Jesus teaches his disciples in today’s gospel story. Let’s think about
how we learn today.
//V// In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit,
//R// Amen.
//V// May The
Grace of our Lord Jesus Christ,
And the love
of God,
And the
fellowship of the Holy Spirit,
be with you
all.
//R// And
with Your Spirit.

Penitential
Rite
Dear little
children, let us acknowledge our sins,
and so
prepare ourselves to celebrate the sacred mysteries.
Confession of our sins
I confess to the Almighty God,
and to you, my brothers and sisters,
that I have greatly sinned
in my thoughts and in my words
in what I have done and In what I have failed to do
-strike
the breast 3 times as you say-
through my fault
through my fault
through my most grievous fault
THEREFORE I ask Blessed Mary Ever Virgin
all the Angels and Saints
and you, my brothers and sisters
to pray for me to the Lord our God…
Have Mercy on us oh Lord
For we have sinned against you.
Show us, Oh Lord, your mercy
And grant us your salvation.
You were sent to heal the contrite of
heart.
Lord have Mercy
Lord have Mercy
You came to sinners
Christ have mercy
Christ have mercy
You are seated at the right hand of
the father to intercede for us.
Lord have mercy.
Lord have mercy.
May the almighty God have mercy on us,
forgive us our sins and bring us to life everlasting?
AMEN

Liturgy of the Word
Introduce the first reading.
Say:
Today’s first reading is from the New Testament Acts of the Apostles.
(Acts 3:13-15, 17-19) Usually we hear a reading from the Old
Testament before the Gospel reading.
During the Easter season, we shall hear from the New Testament book of
Acts. In Acts we learn about the days of the early church – and during the
Easter season, the church spends time studying how the early church was formed
in the days after Jesus’ death and Resurrection>
Today’s
reading is about the man that Jesus chose to be the leader of the church. He is telling the people of Jerusalem
something very important.
A prepared child/children come and take the
reading.
First Reading is from the book of
Acts
3:13-15, 17-19 (CBS)
13 The God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, the God of our ancestors, has glorified his servant Jesus, whom you handed over and denied before Pilate, though he had decided to release him. 14 You denied the Holy and Righteous One and asked to have a murderer released to you. 15 You killed the source[a] of life, whom God raised from the dead; we are witnesses of this.
17 “And now, brothers and sisters, I know that you acted in ignorance, just as your leaders also did. 18 In this way God fulfilled what he had predicted through all the prophets—that his Messiah would suffer. 19 Therefore repent and turn back, so that your sins may be wiped out,
“This
is the word of the Lord”
All say “Thanks be to God”.
Ask: First of all, who was the man that Jesus
chose to lead the church on earth? <Peter> And who is the church’s leader today? <Pope
Francis> Peter was the first
pope.
Let us focus on our responsorial Psalm:
< Glory and praise to you, Lord Jesus Christ....>3x
Introduce the Gospel
Say: Today’s Gospel reading comes from the book of
Luke (Luke 24:35-48). Today’s reading tells of another time when Jesus visited
the Apostles after he rose from the dead.
He tried to help them understand that he really did rise from the dead,
that he was real. He even ate with them.
...with Alleluia!! –
We sing while standing and
welcome the gospel!!
Alle-lu Alle-lu, Alle-lu Alle-lluia!!
Lets praise the Lord….
Alle-lu Alle-lu Alle-lu Alle-lluia!!,
Lets praise the Lord….
Alle-luia, Lets Praise the Lord!
Alle-luia, Lets Praise the Lord!
Alle..lluia Lets praise the Lord….!!!
The leader reading the gospel, silently
says: “Cleanse my heart and my
lips, almighty God, that I may worthily proclaim your Holy Gospel”.
The Leader starts: The Lord be with You,
And with your Spirit.
A reading is from the Holy Gospel according to St. John.
Glory to You, O Lord
Luke 24:35-48 (CSB)
35 Then they began to describe what had happened on
the road and how he was made known to them in the breaking of the bread. The Reality of the Risen Jesus
36 As they were saying these things, he himself stood in their midst. He said to them, “Peace to you!” 37 But they were startled and terrified and thought they were seeing a ghost. 38 “Why are you troubled?” he asked them. “And why do doubts arise in your hearts? 39 Look at my hands and my feet, that it is I myself! Touch me and see, because a ghost does not have flesh and bones as you can see I have.” 40 Having said this, he showed them his hands and feet. 41 But while they still were amazed and in disbelief because of their joy, he asked them, “Do you have anything here to eat?” 42 So they gave him a piece of a broiled fish,[a] 43 and he took it and ate in their presence. 44 He told them, “These are my words that I spoke to you while I was still with you—that everything written about me in the Law of Moses, the Prophets, and the Psalms must be fulfilled.” 45 Then he opened their minds to understand the Scriptures. 46 He also said to them, “This is what is written:[b] The Messiah would suffer and rise from the dead the third day, 47 and repentance for[c] forgiveness of sins would be proclaimed in his name to all the nations, beginning at Jerusalem. 48 You are witnesses of these things.!
”The Gospel of the Lord”
“Praise to you
Lord Jesus Christ”
==== 7:19 - 7:24 ====
(*) Tell your prepared reflecting
story to motivate the children, but according to the Gospel and children’s
level of understanding like in the suggestions below…
Gospel
reflection:
Ask: How do you think you would feel if your good
friend Jesus – who you knew had died – all of sudden met you on the road? Would you believe that it was him? Or might you think that you were imagining
things?
Memory Verse: John 24:46 “.., He also said to them, “This is what is written: The Messiah(Jesus)
would suffer and rise from the dead the third day,
Let us stand up and we
profess our faith.
Profession of our faith
I
believe in God the Father, Almighty,
creator
of heaven and earth:
And
in Jesus Christ, his only begotten Son, our Lord:
--bow
down--
Who
was conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary:
Suffered
under Pontius Pilate;
was
crucified, died and was buried:
He
descended into hell:
The
third day he rose again from the dead:
He
ascended into heaven,
and
sits at the right hand of God the Father Almighty:
From
there He will come to judge the living and the dead:
I
believe in the Holy Spirit:
the
holy catholic church:
the
communion of saints:
The
forgiveness of sins:
The
resurrection of the body:
And
the life everlasting.
Amen.

Prayers of the Faithful Now is the time to
pray for our stuff :-)Intercessions.
You may want to ask the children to offer
their own prayers or you can use the suggestions here.
Leader: All children should have the chance to go to school
and to learn. Let us think about this as we pray together:
Prayer 1. We pray for children in other parts of the world:
that they may have the chance to go to school and learn the skills that they
need for the future.
We pray to
the Lord...
Prayer2. We pray for our teachers and parents: that they may
always make time to explain things to us when we do not understand.
We
pray to the Lord...
Prayer 3. We pray for the work of Children’s Liturgy that it
may continue to bring the message of God carefully to God’s children.
We
pray to the Lord....
Prayer 4. God our teacher, help us understand your great
love for us, and to share that love with our brothers and sisters throughout
the world as we work to make the world a better and fairer place.
We pray to
the Lord...
==== 7:26 - 7:28 ====
Silently, each one tells God your petition.
We ask this through our Lord Jesus Christ your Son, who lives and
reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, One God, for ever and ever.
