This Sunday we
again hear another great story about an adulterous woman.
But when dealing with adult
subjects such as adultery you should be careful to explain the concept at a
child’s level. Here are two ways to define adultery that helps children see the
point while preserving their innocence. Many children will already know more,
but remember the point of the lesson is Jesus’ forgiveness more than the
woman’s sin.
1. Adultery
is when a person does not keep their marriage promises.
2. Adultery
is when a person pretends that someone else is their husband/wife who is not.

Explain: Today is the
Fifth Sunday of Lent, the last Sunday of Lent.
Ask: Does anyone
know what next Sunday is? <Passion Sunday> It is the Sunday that begins the final week
before Easter. During the next week,
we’ll celebrate the events that led up to Jesus’ death and resurrection.
==== 7:00
- 7:03 ====
Welcome;
In
today’s story, Jesus forgives a woman that had done something so wrong! When
people have done something wrong to us, we
often feel angry and want them to be punished, don’t we? But in today’s
gospel, Jesus teaches us that this isn’t always the right way. After all, none
of us are perfect.
Entrance
Song:
Prayer, Fasting, and Alms Giving,
Hands folded in
prayer, hand on tummy, outstretched hands
We are meant, to repent.
Knock on heart 3
times
40 days of sacrifice,
One hand with 4
fingers up, one hand in shape of zero
Being super, extra nice,
Bend arms at
elbows and swing back and forth
This is Lent. This is Lent.
Right hand out
like holding a tray, then same with left.
//V// In the name of
the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.
//R// Amen.
//V// May The Grace of our Lord Jesus Christ,
And the love of God,
And the fellowship of the Holy Spirit,
be with you all.
//R// And with Your Spirit.

18 Do not remember the former things,
or consider the things of old.
19 I am about to do a new thing;
now it springs forth, do you
not perceive it? I will make a way in the wilderness
and rivers in the desert.
20 The wild animals will honor me,
the jackals and the ostriches;
for I give water in the wilderness,
rivers in the desert,
to give drink to my chosen people,
21 the people whom I formed for
myself
so that they might declare my praise.
“This is the word of the Lord”
All say;
“Thanks be to God”.
Let us focus on our responsorial Psalm:
The Lord has done great things for us; we are
filled with joy

Gospel Reading was written by (St. John 8:1-11
) Let Lord’s Word be in my mind <make
a cross on forehead>, and on my lips <make a cross on
lips>, and in my heart <make a cross on the left side of
the chest> OR
Glory to You Lord Jesus Christ.
John 8:1-11
8 1 While Jesus went to the Mount of Olives. 2
Early in the morning he came again to the temple. All the people came to him
and he sat down and began to teach them. 3 The scribes and the Pharisees
brought a woman who had been caught in adultery; and making her stand before
all of them, 4 they said to him, “Teacher, this woman was caught in the very
act of committing adultery. 5 Now in the law Moses commanded us to stone such
women. Now what do you say?” 6 They said this to test him, so that they might
have some charge to bring against him. Jesus bent down and wrote with his
finger on the ground. 7 When they kept on questioning him, he straightened up
and said to them, “Let anyone among you who is without sin be the first to
throw a stone at her.” 8 And once again he bent down and wrote on the
ground.[a] 9 When they heard it, they went away, one by one, beginning with the
elders; and Jesus was left alone with the woman standing before him. 10 Jesus
straightened up and said to her, “Woman, where are they? Has no one condemned
you?” 11 She said, “No one, sir.”[b] And Jesus said, “Neither do I condemn you.
Go your way, and from now on do not sin again.
The
Gospel of the Lord”,
“Glory
and praise to you Lord, Jesus Christ”

(*)Tell an interesting story according to the Gospel and
children’s level of understanding.
Gospel reflection:
Ask; How do you think the
woman felt when
Jesus told her not sin again? Is it easy to change?
We have all done things wrong. Can you think of a time when you did
something wrong? Don’t say it out loud, but keep it in your heads. How did it
feel when you knew you had done something wrong?
What happened next? Did you get told off?
How did it feel when you had said sorry, and been forgiven? Will you try
not to do whatever it was again?
What do you think Jesus was trying to tell us in this reading?
Jesus knows that none of us are perfect. He forgives us for the things
that we
have done and, no matter what, he always loves us. But he also asks us to
change, to try our hardest not to do the wrong thing again.
Jesus asks us not to judge people who have done something wrong, because
we
all do wrong things sometimes. Instead we should try to forgive others,
as God
forgives us. But we should also try to help others see that they need to
change,
so that they no longer do what is wrong.
Let us stand up and we profess our faith.
Profession of our
faith
I believe in God the
Father, Almighty,
creator of heaven and earth:
And in Jesus Christ, his
only begotten Son, our Lord:
--bow down--
Who was conceived by the
power of the Holy Spirit,
born of the Virgin Mary:
Suffered under Pontius
Pilate;
was crucified, died and
was buried:
He descended into hell:
The third day, He rose
again from the dead:
He ascended into heaven,
and sits at the right
hand of God the Father Almighty:
From there He will come
to judge the living and
the dead:
I believe in the Holy
Spirit:
the holy catholic church:
the communion of saints:
The forgiveness of sins:
The resurrection of the
body:
And the life everlasting,
Amen.

Prayers of the Faithful
Now is the time to pray for our stuff :-)Intercessions.
You may want to ask the children to offer their
own prayers or you can use the suggestions below.
Say: Let us offer our prayers to God, who loves
us.
Prayer
1. Let us pray for the Church leaders, Pope Francis, Bishop Cyprian Lwanga,
Priests and all the clergy, that they may teach God’s people how to forgive.
We pray to the Lord…
Prayer 2. Let us pray for all the leaders in the world: that
God may inspire them to treat all people with respect and fairness so that
everyone has an equal chance in life. We pray to the Lord….
Prayer
3. We pray for our parish, family and friends: that we may always try our best to
do what is right, so that the world becomes a fairer place for all to live. We
pray to the Lord….
Prayer
4. And for all of us gathered here, God of love, you forgive us when we go
wrong, and encourage
us to try again to be better. Guide us to do what is
right and to make this world
a fairer place for all who live in it.
We pray to the Lord...
Please Note You
may wish to say slowly together the Our Father, pausing over the phrase:
forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against, and lead us
not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
==== 7:26 - 7:28 ====
Silently, each one tell God your petition.
We ask this through our Lord Jesus Christ your Son,
who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit,
One God, for ever and ever.
Amen
