Theme:
Tell the good news.
Entry song
Trust and Obey
When we walk with the Lord in the light of His Word
What a glory He sheds on our way!
While we do His good will, He abides with us still
And with all who will trust and obey
What a glory He sheds on our way!
While we do His good will, He abides with us still
And with all who will trust and obey
I HAVE DECIDED
I have decided to follow Jesus;
I have decided to follow Jesus;
I have decided to follow Jesus;
No turning back, no turning back.
The world behind me, the cross before me;
The world behind me, the cross before me;
The world behind me, the cross before me;
No turning back, no turning back.
Though none go with me, still I will follow;
Though none go with me, still I will follow;
Though none go with me, still I will follow;
No turning back, no turning back.

Liturgy of the Word
First Reading
This reading tells about the time when the prophet Elijah called someone else to join him. God told Elijah who he should ask to join
him. Let’s listen closely to hear what
happened.
Now give to
the child to start reading the first reading below.
Today’s
first reading is from the old Testament book of 1 Kings 19:16b,19-21
1 Kings 19:16_19-21
The LORD said to Elijah:
“You shall anoint Elisha, son of Shaphat of Abelmeholah,
as prophet to succeed you.”
Elijah set out and came upon Elisha, son of Shaphat,
as he was plowing with twelve yoke of oxen;
he was following the twelfth.
Elijah went over to him and threw his cloak over him.
Elisha left the oxen, ran after Elijah, and said,
“Please, let me kiss my father and mother goodbye,
and I will follow you.”
Elijah answered, “Go back!
Have I done anything to you?”
Elisha left him, and taking the yoke of oxen, slaughtered them;
he used the plowing equipment for fuel to boil their flesh,
and gave it to his people to eat.
Then Elisha left and followed Elijah as his attendant.
This is the word of the Lord, …
Responsorial Psalm
You are my inheritance, O Lord.
Introducing
the Gospel
Today’s Gospel, St. Luke tells us that lots of
people want to join Jesus. In this
reading, Jesus tells people about what it means to believe in Him. Let’s hear what Jesus had to say..
..with
Alleluia!! -,
Welcoming the Gospel
You are welcome Lord of Lords,
You are welcome King of Kings
You are welcome Lord of Hosts
You are welcome Prince of Peace..
You are welcome here, Alle-lluia,
Alle..lluia Might God!!!x2
Silently say:” Cleanse my heart
and my lips, almighty God, that I may worthily proclaim your Holy Gospel to
your little children.
The Lord be with You,
AND with your Spirit

Luke 9:57-62 (ICB)
Following Jesus
57 They were all going along the road.
Someone said to Jesus, “I will follow you any place you go.”
58 Jesus answered, “The foxes have
holes to live in. The birds have nests to live in. But the Son of Man has no
place to rest his head.”
59 Jesus said to another man, “Follow me!”
But the man said, “Lord, first let me go and bury my
father.”
60 But Jesus said to him, “Let the people who
are dead bury their own dead! You must go and tell about the kingdom of God.”
61 Another man said, “I will follow
you, Lord, but first let me go and say good-bye to my family.”
62 Jesus said, “Anyone who begins
to plow a field but keeps looking back is of no use in the kingdom of God.”
“The Gospel of the Lord”,
“Praise to you Lord Jesus
Christ”
(*)Tell an interesting story
according to the Gospel
and children’s level of understanding like in the Gospel reflection:
==== 7:24 - 7:27 ====
Gospel Reflection.
Ask: What do you think Jesus is trying to tell us? <discuss> Did he sound like He really wanted people to
come with Him? Or did He sound like He
was discouraging them?
When
we decide to follow Jesus, we need to remember that following His command of
love is the most important thing for us to do- more important than anything
else. He didn’t mean that we could or
should neglect our responsibilities at home, but for us to remember that
following His command is the most important thing for us to always put first in
our lives. In other words,
JUST DO IT!
Ask the Holy Spirit to
guide you to do the right thing in the coming week.
Profession
of our faith
I
believe in God the Father, Almighty,
Creator
of heaven and earth:
And
in Jesus Christ, his only begotten Son, our Lord: --bow down--
Who
was conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit,
born
of the Virgin Mary:
Suffered
under Pontius Pilate;
was
crucified, died and was buried:
He
descended into hell:
And
the third day He rose again from the dead: He ascended into heaven,
and
seated at the right hand of God the Father Almighty:
From
there He shall come again to judge the living and the dead:
I
believe in the Holy Spirit:
the
holy catholic church:
the
communion of saints:
The
forgiveness of sins:
The
resurrection of the body:
And
the life everlasting.
Amen.

Prayers of the Faithful
Now is the time to pray for our stuff :-) Intercessions: You may want to ask the children to offer
their own prayers or you can use the suggestions below.
Jesus calls us to follow
him and so we pray together:
Prayer 1. We pray for our most Holy
Father, Pope Francis, our archbishop Cyprian Lwanga, Priests and all the clergy
that God and Lord, who chose them to serve the church, may continue helping them
to have proper knowledge while preaching the word of our Lord to His people. We pray to the Lord...
Prayer 2. We pray for our government, and
governments all over the world to work in harmony with the church. May they
know that Jesus is there for all of us, and that Jesus will guide us to preach
His word. We pray to the Lord...
Prayer
3.
We
pray for all people in our parish and schools: that they may be inspired by God
to show Christ's love in all that they do, teach and say. We pray to the Lord....
Prayer
4. Let
us pray for our families and friends who have been forced to flee their homes:
that they may find a place of welcome and safety... We pray to the Lord....

after 10seconds in words below
We
ask this through our Lord Jesus Christ your Son, who lives and reigns with you
