Entrance Song
A new commandment

A new commandment I give unto you,
That you love one another as I have loved you,
That you love one another as I have loved you.

By this shall all men know that you are My disciples,
if you have love one for another.
By this shall all men know that you are My disciples,
if you have love one for another.

Welcome; Today we hear about how Jesus gets angry when he sees something that he does
not think is right or fair. When we look at the world we can see lots of things that are not fair. Let’s think a bit today about how we can change this.

//V// In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit,
//R// Amen.
//V// May The Grace of our Lord Jesus Christ,
And the love of God,
And the fellowship of the Holy Spirit,
be with you all.
//R//  And with Your Spirit.

Penitential Rite
Dear little children, let us acknowledge our sins, and so prepare ourselves to celebrate the sacred mysteries.

Confession of our sins
I confess to the Almighty God,
and to you, my brothers and sisters,
that I have greatly sinned
in my thoughts and in my words
in what I have done and In what I have failed to do
            -strike the breast 3 times as you say-
through my fault
through my fault
through my most grievous fault
THEREFORE I ask Blessed Mary Ever Virgin
all the Angels and Saints
and you, my brothers and sisters
to pray for me to the Lord our God

Have Mercy on us oh Lord
For we have sinned against you.

Show us, Oh Lord, your mercy
And grant us your salvation.

You were sent to heal the contrite of heart.
Lord have Mercy
Lord have Mercy

You came to sinners
Christ have mercy
Christ have mercy

You are seated at the right hand of the father to intercede for us.
Lord have mercy.
Lord have mercy.
May the almighty God have mercy on us, forgive us our sins and bring us to life everlasting?
AMEN

Liturgy of the Word
First Reading, Introduce the reading.
Say:   Today’s first reading is from the Old Testament book of Exodus. (Exo 20:1-3, 7-8, 12-17) The reading today tells us about a man named Moses.  Can anyone tell me anything they remember about Moses?  <led the Israelites to the Promised Land, parted the Red Sea, etc.>  God gave Moses the laws we call the 10 Commandments

A prepared child/children come and take the first reading or second reading.
First Reading
Exo 20:1-3, 7-8, 12-17
The Ten Commandments
20 God spoke, and these were his words: 2 “I am the Lord your God who brought you out of Egypt, where you were slaves.
3 “Worship no god but me. 7 “Do not use my name for evil purposes, for I, the Lord your God, will punish anyone who misuses my name.
8 “Observe the Sabbath and keep it holy.
12 “Respect your father and your mother, so that you may live a long time in the land that I am giving you.
13 “Do not commit murder.
14 “Do not commit adultery.
15 “Do not steal.
16 “Do not accuse anyone falsely.
17 “Do not desire another man's house; do not desire his wife, his slaves, his cattle, his donkeys, or anything else that he owns.”
“This is the word of the Lord”
All say “Thanks be to God”.

Say: The 10 Commandments are part of a promise between God and us.  How would this work?  <discuss>  We follow the Commandments – and what will God do?  <reward us with eternal life – which is another word for?  <heaven>>

Let us focus on our responsorial Psalm:

< Lord, you have the words of everlasting life.....>3x.

Introduce the Gospel

Today’s Gospel reading comes from the book of the Apostle John.  (John 2:13-22). The gospel today tells us about a time when Jesus was in a temple. Jesus became very angry at some of the things people were doing in the Temple.  Listen closely with your hearts to see if you can understand what Jesus’ message is for us.

Now we will stand to get ready to hear the Gospel
In lent period, we shall not sing the hallelujah,
because it’s a time for us to reflect on the
quality of our life style. But another song without an hallelujah can be sang.

Silently the leader says:” Cleanse my heart and my lips, almighty God, that I may worthily proclaim your Holy Gospel.
The Leader starts: The Lord be with You,
And with your Spirit.
A reading is from the Holy Gospel according to St. Matthew.
Glory to You, O Lord

John 2:13-22 (GNT)
Jesus Goes to the Temple
13 It was almost time for the Passover Festival, so Jesus went to Jerusalem. 14 There in the Temple he found people selling cattle, sheep, and pigeons, and also the moneychangers sitting at their tables. 15 So he made a whip from cords and drove all the animals out of the Temple, both the sheep and the cattle; he overturned the tables of the moneychangers and scattered their coins; 16 and he ordered those who sold the pigeons, “Take them out of here! Stop making my Father's house a marketplace!” 17 His disciples remembered that the scripture says, “My devotion to your house, O God, burns in me like a fire.”

18 The Jewish authorities came back at him with a question, “What miracle can you perform to show us that you have the right to do this?”

19 Jesus answered, “Tear down this Temple, and in three days I will build it again.”

20 “Are you going to build it again in three days?” they asked him. “It has taken forty-six years to build this Temple!”

21 But the temple Jesus was speaking about was his body. 22 So when he was raised from death, his disciples remembered that he had said this, and they believed the scripture and what Jesus had said.?
”The Gospel of the Lord”
“Praise to you Lord Jesus Christ”
====  7:19 - 7:24 ====
(*) Tell your prepared interesting story according to the Gospel and children’s level of understanding like in the…
Gospel reflection:

Ask: Why do you think that Jesus got angry with the people in the Temple?  <discuss> Jesus was angry because the people were not acting out of love or respect for God.  God wants us to follow His rules because we love Him. He wants us to think about what we do and always act out of love.

Memory Verse: “John 2:21 (...”21 But the temple Jesus was speaking about was His body.!”)

Let us stand up and we profess our faith.

Profession of our faith
I believe in God the Father, Almighty,
creator of heaven and earth:
And in Jesus Christ, his only begotten Son, our Lord:
         --bow down--
Who was conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary:
Suffered under Pontius Pilate;
was crucified, died and was buried:
He descended into hell:
The third day he rose again from the dead:
He ascended into heaven,
and sits at the right hand of God the Father Almighty:
From there He will come to judge the living and the dead:
I believe in the Holy Spirit:
the holy catholic church:
the communion of saints:
The forgiveness of sins:
The resurrection of the body:
And the life everlasting. Amen.

====  7:24 - 7:26 ====
Prayers of the Faithful
Now is the time to pray for our stuff :-)Intercessions.
You may want to ask the children to offer their own prayers or you can use the suggestions below.
Leader: It can be hard to stand up for what we believe in and so we pray together for God’s help:

Prayer 1. We pray for the Church throughout the world: that it may be strong in standing up for what it believes in and may help to build God’s church.  We pray to the Lord…

Prayer 2. We pray for all people who grow the food we eat around the world: that they may get a fair price for all their hard work. We pray to the Lord....

Prayer 3. We pray for our parish, family and friends: that we may follow Jesus’s example and never be afraid to stand up for what is right and fair. We pray to the Lord...

Prayer 4. Christ Jesus, show us how to be brave enough to stand up for what is right and fair. Give us the courage to change the things we know are wrong and help us to make the world a fairer place for our brothers and sisters around the world.
We pray to the Lord...

====  7:26 - 7:28 ====
Silently, each one tells God your petition.
We ask this through our Lord Jesus Christ your Son,
who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit,
One God, for ever and ever.
Amen
====  7:28 - 7:30 ====
