Entrance Song
To God be the glory, great
things He hath done,
So loved He the world that
He gave us His Son,
Who yielded His life our
redemption to win,
And opened the life-gate
that all may go in.
Chorus
Praise the Lord, praise the Lord,
Let the earth hear His
voice;
Praise the Lord, praise
the Lord,
Let the people rejoice;
Oh, come to the Father,
through Jesus the Son,
And give Him the glory;
great things He hath done.
Oh, perfect redemption,
the purchase of blood,
To every believer the
promise of God;
The vilest offender who
truly believes,
That moment from Jesus a
pardon receives.

Welcome:
Today we hear how Jesus
is the vine, and how he gives life to us, his branches. Let’s think a bit about
what that means today.
//V// In the name of the Father, and of the Son,
and of the Holy Spirit,
//R// Amen.
//V// May The Grace of our Lord Jesus Christ,
And the love of God,
And the fellowship of
the Holy Spirit,
be with you all.

Your Spirit.

to pray for me to the
Lord our God…
Have Mercy on us oh Lord
For we have sinned
against you.
Show us, Oh Lord, your mercy
And grant us your
salvation.
You were sent to heal the contrite of heart.
Lord have Mercy
Lord have Mercy
You came to sinners
Christ have mercy
Christ have mercy
You are seated at the right hand of the father to intercede for
us.

Liturgy of the Word
Introduce the first
reading.
Say: Today’s first
reading is again from the Acts of the
Apostles. (Acts 9:26-28) It tells about how a man named Saul became a
follower of Jesus. Saul was a Roman soldier who followed his orders to chase
after and kill the people who followed Jesus. God spoke to Saul and
changed his name. Does anyone know what his new name was? <Paul>
Listen to the reading and think about how you might feel about the new
Christian, Saul.
A prepared
child/children come and take the reading.
First Reading is from the book of
Acts 9:26-31 (GNT)
Saul in Jerusalem
26 Saul went to
Jerusalem and tried to join the disciples. But they would not believe that he
was a disciple, and they were all afraid of him. 27 Then Barnabas came to his
help and took him to the apostles. He explained to them how Saul had seen the
Lord on the road and that the Lord had spoken to him. He also told them how
boldly Saul had preached in the name of Jesus in Damascus. 28 And so Saul
stayed with them and went all over Jerusalem, preaching boldly in the name of
the Lord. 29 He also talked and disputed with the Greek-speaking Jews, but they
tried to kill him. 30 When the believers found out about this, they took Saul
to Caesarea and sent him away to Tarsus.
31 And so it was that
the church throughout Judea, Galilee, and Samaria had a time of peace. Through
the help of the Holy Spirit it was strengthened and grew in numbers, as it
lived in reverence for the Lord..”
“This is the word of the Lord”
All say “Thanks be to God”.
Ask: How do you think you
might feel about Saul? <afraid, not trust him, etc.> Barnabas
listened to God and believed in Saul. Barnabas believed even though it
didn’t make sense to him…
Let us focus on our
responsorial Psalm:
< I will praise you, Lord, in the assembly of your
people....>3x
Introduce the Gospel
Say: Today’s Gospel
reading comes from the book of John. (John 15:1-5, 7-8).
The reading today is a
parable. Does anyone remember what a parable is? <a teaching story with a hidden meaning> Jesus compares
himself to a vine and us to branches. He reminds us how important it is that we
work hard to keep following him..
...with Alleluia!! –
We sing while standing and welcome the gospel!!
Alle-lu Alle-lu, Alle-lu
Alle-lluia!!
Lets praise the Lord….
Alle-lu Alle-lu Alle-lu
Alle-lluia!!,
Lets praise the Lord….
Alle-luia, Lets Praise
the Lord!
Alle-luia, Lets Praise
the Lord!
Alle..lluia Lets praise
the Lord….!!!
The leader reading the
gospel, silently says: “Cleanse my heart and my lips, almighty God,
that I may worthily proclaim your Holy Gospel”.
The Leader starts:
The Lord be with You,
And with your Spirit.
Leader: A reading is from the Holy Gospel according
to St. John.
Glory to You, O Lord
John 15:1-5, 7-8 (CSB)
Jesus the Real Vine
“I am the real
vine, and my Father is the gardener. He breaks off every branch in me that does
not bear fruit, and he prunes every branch that does bear fruit, so that it
will be clean and bear more fruit. You have been made clean already by the
teaching I have given you. Remain united to me, and I will remain united to
you. A branch cannot bear fruit by itself; it can do so only if it remains in
the vine. In the same way you cannot bear fruit unless you remain in me. “I am
the vine, and you are the branches. Those who remain in me, and I in them, will
bear much fruit; for you can do nothing without me. If you remain in me and my
words remain in you, then you will ask for anything you wish, and you shall
have it. My Father's glory is shown by your bearing much fruit; and in this way
you become my disciples..
”The Gospel of the Lord”
“Praise to you Lord
Jesus Christ”
==== 7:19 - 7:24 ====
(*) Tell your prepared
reflecting story to motivate the children, but according to the Gospel and
children’s level of understanding like in the suggestions below…
Gospel reflection:
Ask: Why is it important
for us to keep following Jesus? <to stay good, to lead good lives, to
get to heaven> Is it hard to follow Jesus? <sometimes> Sometimes it’s just hard
to remember to keep praying or to think about Jesus. When we get busy
going to school or playing, we sometimes forget that Jesus is there with
us. Let’s try this week to think of Jesus a little bit more than usual.
Memory Verse:
John 15:7 “..,<7 If you remain in me and my words remain in you, then you
will ask for anything you wish, and you shall have it..>
Let us stand up and we
profess our faith.
Profession of our faith
I believe in God the
Father, Almighty,
creator of heaven and
earth:
And in
Prayers of the Faithful
Now is the time to pray for our stuff :-) Intercessions.
Jesus Christ, his only
begotten Son, our Lord:
--bow down--
Who was conceived by the
power of the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary:
Suffered under Pontius
Pilate;
was crucified, died and
was buried:
He descended into hell:
The third day he rose
again from the dead:
He ascended into heaven,
and sits at the right
hand of God the Father Almighty:
From there He will come
to judge the living and the dead:
I believe in the Holy
Spirit:
the holy catholic
church:
the communion of saints:
The forgiveness of sins:
The resurrection of the
body:
And the life
everlasting.
Amen.
==== 7:24 - 7:26 ====
You may want to ask the
children to offer their own prayers or you can use the suggestions here.
Leader: We know that Jesus is
the true vine always supporting us, his branches. Let us keep this in mind as
we pray together:
Prayer 1.
We pray for the Church throughout the world: that it may follow Christ’s
example and show love and welcome to all people.
We pray to the Lord...
Prayer2. We pray for all those,
who have had to leave their homes: that they may find a new home, where they
feel safe and have enough to eat.
We pray to the Lord...
Prayer 3. We pray for our
parish, family and friends: that we may be moved to show love for our neighbors.
We pray to the Lord....
Prayer 4. Generous God, support
us in all we do as a vine supports its branches, and help us to support and
share with others around us, especially those who have had to leave their
homes. We pray to the Lord...
==== 7:26 - 7:28 ====
Silently, each one tells
God your petition.
We ask this through our
Lord Jesus Christ your Son, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit,
One God, for ever and ever.
Amen
