Colour: Green
==== 7:00 - 7:03 ====

Entrance Song:
Chorus

 Here I am Lord, Is it I, Lord?
               I have heard You calling in the night.
  I will go Lord, if You lead me.
           I will hold Your people in my heart.

Welcome;
Ask: Does anyone know what faith is? Explain: Another word for faith is Belief. If we
have faith in something, then we believe in it.
Say: Another way to explain FAITH is to say that you “see with your heart”.

Today we hear how Jesus was teaching with great wisdom, but the people found it hard to believe in him. Let’s listen and find out why.

Let us focus on our responsorial Psalm
< Lord, you are good and forgiving.>

//V// In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.
//R// Amen.
//V// May The Grace of our Lord Jesus Christ,
And the love of God,
And the fellowship of the Holy Spirit, be with you all.
//R// And with Your Spirit.

First Reading
A prepared child comes to takes the first reading or second reading..
The first reading today is taken from the letter of Ezekiel 2:2-5
2 While the voice was speaking, God's spirit entered me and raised me to my feet, and I
heard the voice continue, 3 “Mortal man, I am sending you to the people of Israel. They have
rebelled and turned against me and are still rebels, just as their ancestors were.
4 They are stubborn and do not respect me, so I am sending you to tell them what I, the
Sovereign Lord, am saying to them. 5 Whether those rebels listen to you or not, they will know
that a prophet has been among them.
This is the word of the LordAll say “Thanks be to God”.

Leader, ,Silently say: ”Cleanse my heart and my lips, almighty God, that I may worthily proclaim your Holy Gospel. The Lord be with You,
AND with your Spirit

Gospel Reading: The Gospel reading is from the book of ...Mark 6:1-6
We are going to do something that everyone does in the big church. We make three little crosses - 1 on our forehead- 1 on our lips - and 1 on our hearts. (forehead),We are asking God to help us understand His words , (lips) to help us tell others about His word and (heart) live His word. When we do this, we say : Glory to You, O Lord.
Jesus Is Rejected at Nazareth
6 Jesus left that place and went back to his
hometown, followed by his disciples. 2 On the Sabbath he began to teach in the synagogue.
Many people were there; and when they heard him, they were all amazed. “Where did he get all this?” they asked. “What wisdom is this that has been given him? How does he perform miracles?
3 Isn't he the carpenter, the son of Mary, and the brother of James, Joseph, Judas, and Simon?
Aren't his sisters living here?” And so they
rejected him. 4 Jesus said to them, “Prophets are respected everywhere except in their own
hometown and by their relatives and their
family.” 5 He was not able to perform any miracles there, except that he placed his hands on a few sick people and healed them. 6 He was greatly surprised, because the people did not have faith.
Jesus Sends Out the Twelve Disciples
Then Jesus went to the villages around there, teaching the people.
The Gospel of the Lord”
Glory and praise to you Lord, Jesus Christ

(*)Tell an interesting story according to the Gospel and children’s level of understanding like in
the Gospel reflection: ==== 7:19 - 7:24 ====
? Jesus was back in his home town and teaching in the synagogue. How did the people feel when they heard him speaking? Does anyone remember?
. They were very surprised. They couldn’t understand how Jesus, who they had known since he was a little boy, could have so much wisdom and teach so well.
? Why do you think the people were so surprised?
. They thought that they knew who Jesus was – the son of Joseph the carpenter. They thought Jesus was just an ordinary man, but he wasn’t.
?Why not?
.The people could not accept that Jesus was special. They did not believe in him.!
... Sometimes when we know someone really well we can forget how special they are. It can be hard to see past all the things we know about them, to what they are really like. And sometimes we forget how special the things that we do are, because they just feel ordinary to us.
?Can you think of something special that someone you know really well does?
– it could be a friend or a family member or someone else? And can you think of one ordinary thing that you do, that others might see as special?

Profession of our faith

I believe in God the Father, Almighty,
creator of heaven and earth:
And in Jesus Christ, his only begotten Son, our Lord:

--bow down--
Who was conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary:
Suffered under Pontius Pilate;
was crucified, died and was buried:
He descended into hell:
The third day he rose again from the dead:
He ascended into heaven,
and sits at the right hand of God the Father Almighty: From there He will come to judge the leaving and the dead:
I believe in the Holy Spirit:
the holy catholic church:
the communion of saints:
The forgiveness of sins:
The resurrection of the body:
And the life everlasting.
Amen.

Today we are hearing how we can use our hands. We can use our hands in many ways.  We can use them to help and or, we can use them to hurt people.  But Jesus used his hands to help, to express his love and his power as God.

Jesus gave life with his hands.…

Liturgy of the Word
First Reading
A prepared child comes to takes the first reading or second reading..
The first reading today is taken from the letter (Wisdom 1:13-15, 2:23-24a). It tells us that God is sad when we are sad and wants to help us.  He created us to be happy and live forever just like him.  It is the devil who brought unhappiness into the world.

 Wisdom 1:13-15

13 God did not invent death, and when living creatures die, it gives him no pleasure. 14 He created everything so that it might continue to exist, and everything he created is wholesome and good. There is no deadly poison in them. No, death does not rule this world, 15 for God's justice does not die.

Wisdom 2:23-24

23 When God created us, he did not intend for us to die; he made us like himself. 24 It was the Devil's jealousy that brought death into the world, and those who belong to the Devil are the ones who will die.
 This is the word of the Lord
All say “Thanks be to God”.

And at the end, say “The Gospel of the Lord” and all repeat “Glory and praise to you Lord, Jesus Christ

Mark 5:21-24

Jairus' Daughter and the Woman Who Touched Jesus' Cloak

21 Jesus went back across to the other side of the lake. There at the lakeside a large crowd gathered around him. 22 Jairus, an official of the local synagogue, arrived, and when he saw Jesus, he threw himself down at his feet 23 and begged him earnestly, “My little daughter is very sick. Please come and place your hands on her, so that she will get well and live!”

24 Then Jesus started off with him. So many people were going along with Jesus that they were crowding him from every side. Mark 5:35-43

35 While Jesus was saying this, some messengers came from Jairus' house and told him, “Your daughter has died. Why bother the Teacher any longer?”
36 Jesus paid no attention to[a] what they said, but told him, “Don't be afraid, only believe.”37 Then he did not let anyone else go on with him except Peter and James and his brother John. 38 They arrived at Jairus' house, where Jesus saw the confusion and heard all the loud crying and wailing. 39 He went in and said to them, “Why all this confusion? Why are you crying? The child is not dead—she is only sleeping!”
40 They started making fun of him, so he put them all out, took the child's father and mother and his three disciples, and went into the room where the child was lying. 41 He took her by the hand and said to her, “Talitha, koum,” which means, “Little girl, I tell you to get up!”
42 She got up at once and started walking around. (She was twelve years old.) When this happened, they were completely amazed. 43 But Jesus gave them strict orders not to tell anyone, and he said, “Give her something to eat..
 The Gospel of the Lord”
Glory and praise to you Lord, Jesus Christ
(*)Tell an interesting story according to the Gospel and children’s level of understanding like in the Gospel reflection:
   ====  7:24 - 7:27 ====
It tells about a man named Jairus who had a daughter who was dying.  The doctors had already given up.  Jairus was very worried and decided to ask Jesus to help.  Jairus had a lot of faith in Jesus.  He believed that Jesus could help his daughter.  When Jesus and Jairus came to the little girl, she had already died.  Jesus told the people that she was asleep but they laughed at him.  Jairus believed Jesus and Jesus was able to help his little girl.
Let’s pretend that you are part of Jairus’ family.  You are sad because the little girl is dying.  Imagine how you will feel when Jesus comes because Jairus believes so much.  You might feel that this strange man <Jesus> is a little bit crazy because you know that the girl is dead.  But imagine how you would feel when you see her get up and begin to eat.
Our Lord is able to do much more than we ever imagined.
