Welcome;
Say Today we hear John the Baptist- again
preparing people for the coming of Jesus. The people were very excited. John
told them that they had to change their lives for the better and share what
they had with others. Let’s think a bit more about that today.
//V// In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and
of the Holy Spirit.
//R// Amen.
//V// May The Grace of our Lord Jesus
Christ,
And
the love of God,
And
the fellowship of the Holy Spirit,
be
with you all.
//R// And with Your
Spirit.

Penitential Rite
Dear
little children, let us acknowledge our sins,
and
so prepare ourselves to celebrate the sacred mysteries.
Confession
of our sins
I confess to the
Almighty God,
and to you, my
brothers and sisters,
that
I have greatly sinned
in
my thoughts and in my words
in
what I have done and In what I have failed to do
-strike
the breast 3 times as you say-
through
my fault
through
my fault
through
my most grievous fault
THEREFORE
I ask Blessed Mary Ever Virgin
all
the Angels and Saints
and
you, my brothers and sisters
to
pray for me to the Lord our God
Have Mercy on us oh Lord
For
we have sinned against you.
Show us, Oh Lord, your mercy
And
grant us your salvation.
You were sent to heal the contrite of heart.
Lord
have Mercy
Lord
have Mercy
You came to sinners
Christ
have mercy
Christ
have mercy
You are seated at the right hand of the father to intercede for us.
Lord
have mercy.
Lord
have mercy.
May the almighty God have mercy on us, forgive us our
sins and bring us to life everlasting? AMEN
==== 7:11 - 7:14 ====

Liturgy of
the Word
First Reading, Introduce the reading.
Our first reading is from the Old Testament, from the
book of the prophet Zephaniah. (Zeph 3:14-15) In the Old
Testament, there is a tremendous amount of history of God’s people. We
have heard many Old Testament stories about waiting. What were they
waiting for? <the coming of a king, or one who would save
them>
A prepared child comes and takes the
first reading or second reading.
Zephaniah 3:14-18
A Song of
Joy
14 Sing
and shout for joy, people of Israel!
Rejoice with all your heart, Jerusalem!
15 The Lord has stopped your punishment;
he has removed all your enemies.
The Lord, the king of Israel, is with you;
there is no reason now to be afraid.
Rejoice with all your heart, Jerusalem!
15 The Lord has stopped your punishment;
he has removed all your enemies.
The Lord, the king of Israel, is with you;
there is no reason now to be afraid.
“This is the word of the Lord”
All say “Thanks be to God”.
Let us focus on our
responsorial Psalm:
< Cry out with joy
and gladness for among you is the great and Holy One of Israel. 3x.
Introduce the Gospel
From the
gospel according to Luke (Luke 3:10-16, 18).
Again this week, we hear about John the Baptist. People kept coming to him and asking how they
should behave. He was such a good man
that people wondered if he were the Messiah everyone was waiting for. Let’s listen to what John had to say and how
he answered their questions.
Let us
welcome the Gospel:
..with
Alleluia!! - OR
Welcome the Gospel through a song.
Halle halle halle is a
caribbean song listen to it on youtube its so easy to learn.
Halle, halle, halle-lu-jah!
Halle, halle, halle-lu-jah!
Halle, halle, halle-lu-jah!
Hallelujah! Hallelujah!
Silently
say:
”Cleanse my heart and my lips, almighty God, that I may worthily proclaim your
Holy Gospel.
The Lord be with You,
AND with your Spirit.
The Gospel Reading was
written by Luke 3:10-16
Let
Lord’s Word be in my mind <make a cross on forehead>, and on my lips
<make a cross on lips>, and in my heart <make a cross on the left side of the chest>OR
Glory to You Lord Jesus Christ.
Luke 3:10-16 Good News
Translation (GNT)
10 The people asked
him, “What are we to do, then?”
11 He answered,
“Whoever has two shirts must give one to the man who has none, and whoever has
food must share it.”
12 Some tax collectors
came to be baptized, and they asked him, “Teacher, what are we to do?”
13 “Don't collect more
than is legal,” he told them.
14 Some soldiers also
asked him, “What about us? What are we to do?”
He said to them, “Don't take money
from anyone by force or accuse anyone falsely. Be content with your pay.”
15 People's hopes
began to rise, and they began to wonder whether John perhaps might be the
Messiah. 16 So
John said to all of them, “I baptize you with water, but someone is coming who
is much greater than I am. I am not good enough even to untie his sandals. He
will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire.
“The
Gospel of the Lord”
“Glory
and praise to you Lord, Jesus Christ”

(*)Tell an interesting
story according to the Gospel and children’s level of understanding.
Gospel reflection:
What did John have to say? What does he
tell us to do? <to share, to do what we are supposed to do and to
be nice to people. He says to be fair and to be satisfied with what
we have.> Was John the
Messiah? <no> Who is? <Jesus>.
Let us stand up and we profess our faith.
Profession of our faith
I believe in God the Father,
Almighty,
creator of heaven and earth:
And in Jesus Christ, his only
begotten Son, our Lord:
--bow down--
Who was conceived by the power of
the Holy Spirit,
born of the Virgin Mary:
Suffered under Pontius Pilate;
was crucified, died and was buried:
He descended into hell:
The third day, He rose again from
the dead:
He ascended into heaven,
and sits at the right hand of God
the Father Almighty:
From there He will come to judge the
leaving and the
dead:
I believe in the Holy Spirit:
the holy catholic church:
the communion of saints:
The forgiveness of sins:
The resurrection of the body:
And the life everlasting.
Amen.

Prayers of the Faithful
Now is
the time to pray for our stuff :-)Intercessions.
You may want to ask the children to
offer their own prayers or you can use the suggestions below.
All
that we have is given to us by God and so we pray together:
Prayer 1. We pray for the Church throughout
the world: Especially our Pope Francis, our Archbishop Cyprian Lwanga and all
the clergy that it may be a shining example of God’s love, welcoming all people
and spreading the message of sharing to all people.
We pray to the Lord...
Prayer 2. We pray for all members of our global family:
that we may all recognise the importance of our brothers and sisters, and share
what we have for the good of all people.. We
pray to the Lord...
Prayer 3. We
pray for our communities, families and friends: that we may be moved to care
for one another, and share what we have so all people can live full and happy
lives. We pray to the Lord..
Prayer 4. Christ Jesus, as
Christmas approaches, we look forward joyfully to your coming. Help us to
prepare, to change our lives to be ready when you come, and to share what we
have so all people may have what they need. We pray to the Lord...
==== 7:26 - 7:28 ====
Silently, each one tell God your petition.
We
ask this through our Lord Jesus Christ your Son,
who
lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit,
One
