Colour: White
Theme: The Dove
Representing the Holy
Spirit..
Welcome: Today Jesus tells us that if we love him, we must
keep his commandments. And that if we do love him, God will also love us. And Jesus
promised that He would send an advocate to be with us after He left earth.
Ask: What was last week’s theme? < “Jesus Comforts His
Followers.”> “I(Jesus)
can assure you that whoever believes in me will do the same things
I have done, and they will do even greater things than I have done, because I
am going to the Father”

Penitential Rite
Dear little children, let us acknowledge our sins,
and so prepare ourselves to celebrate the sacred mysteries.
Confession of our
sins
I confess to the Almighty God,
and to you, my brothers and sisters,
that I have greatly sinned
in my thoughts and in my words
in what I have done and In what I have failed to do
-strike
the breast 3 times as you say-
through my fault
through my fault
through my most grievous fault
THEREFORE I ask Blessed Mary Ever Virgin
all the Angels and Saints
and you, my brothers and sisters
to pray for me to the Lord our God…
Have Mercy on us oh Lord
For we have sinned against you.
Show us, Oh Lord, your mercy
And grant us your salvation.
You were sent to heal the contrite of
heart.
Lord have Mercy
Lord have Mercy
You came to sinners
Christ have mercy
Christ have mercy
You are seated at the right hand of
the father to intercede for us.
Lord have mercy.
Lord have mercy.
May the almighty God have mercy on us,
forgive us our sins and bring us to life everlasting?
AMEN

Liturgy of the Word
Introduce the first reading.
Say: Today’s first reading is from the
Acts of the Apostles. This is a story about St. Philip in Samaria. Does anyone remember anything about the
people who lived in Samaria? The people
were called Samaritans. <probably someone
will recall the story of the good Samaritan>
When Jesus lived on earth, very few people liked the Samaritans. No one would talk to them or be nice to them
or even get near them.
A prepared child/children come and take the reading.
Acts 8: 5-8, 14-17 GNT
Philip
Tells the Good News in Samaria
5 Philip went to the principal city[a] in Samaria and preached the
Messiah to the people there. 6 The crowds paid close attention to what Philip
said, as they listened to him and saw the miracles that he performed. 7 Evil
spirits came out from many people with a loud cry, and many paralyzed and lame
people were healed. 8 So there was great joy in that city.
14 The apostles in Jerusalem heard that the
people of Samaria had received the word of God, so they sent Peter and John to
them. 15 When they arrived, they prayed for the
believers that they might receive the Holy Spirit. 16 For the Holy Spirit had not yet come down on any of them; they had only been baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. 17 Then Peter and John placed their hands on them, and they
received the Holy Spirit.
“This
is the word of the Lord”
All say “Thanks be to God”.
Ask: Did you hear what happened? <the Holy Spirit came to the people in
Samaria> this reading reminds us that
the Holy Spirit is `available for anyone who believes in Jesus – even people
who are not exactly like us, even people we might be afraid of.
Say: Let
us now focus on our responsorial Psalm:
< Let all the earth cry out to God with
joy> 3x
Introducing
the Gospel
Say: Today’s Gospel
reading comes from the book of St. John. St. John tells us about Jesus’ promise
to send the Holy Spirit to us. He
promised that he would not leave us here alone.
Let’s listen to see if we can hear who Jesus said he was going to send
to us…
...with Alleluia!! –
We sing while standing and
welcome the gospel!!
Alle-lu Alle-lu, Alle-lu Alle-lluia!!
Lets praise the Lord….
Alle-lu Alle-lu Alle-lu Alle-lluia!!,
Lets praise the Lord….
Alle-luia, Lets Praise the Lord!
Alle-luia, Lets Praise the Lord!
Alle..lluia Lets praise the Lord….!!!
The leader reading the gospel, silently
says: “Cleanse our hearts and our lips almighty
God, that we may worthily proclaim your Holy Gospel”.
The Leader starts: The Lord be with You,
And with your Spirit.
A reading is from the Holy Gospel according to St. John.
Glory to You, O Lord
John 14:15-21 (GNT)
The Promise of the Holy Spirit
15 “If you love me, you will obey my commandments. 16 I will ask the
Father, and he will give you another Helper, who will stay with you forever. 17
He is the Spirit, who reveals the truth about God. The world cannot receive
him, because it cannot see him or know him. But you know him, because he
remains with you and is[a] in you.
18 “When I go, you will not be left all alone; I will come back to you.
19 In a little while the world will see me no more, but you will see me; and
because I live, you also will live. 20 When that day comes, you will know that
I am in my Father and that you are in me, just as I am in you.
21 “Those who accept my commandments and obey them are the ones who love
me. My Father will love those who love me; I too will love them and reveal
myself to them.”
The Gospel of the Lord”
“Praise to you Lord
Jesus Christ”
==== 7:19 - 7:24 ====
(*) Tell your prepared reflecting story to motivate the children, but
according to the Gospel and children’s level of understanding like in the
suggestions below…
Gospel
reflection:
What happened?
<let the children retell what they heard> What was the promise
that Jesus made? <that when he returned to his father, he
would send the Holy Spirit to us> What else do we need to build our
faith community? <the Holy Spirit>
Memory Verse: John 14:15
“If you love me, you will obey my
commandments.”
Let us stand up and we
profess our faith.
Profession of our faith
I
believe in God the Father, Almighty,
creator
of heaven and earth:
And
in Jesus Christ, his only begotten Son, our Lord:
--bow
down--
Who
was conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary:
Suffered
under Pontius Pilate;
was
crucified, died and was buried:
He
descended into hell:
The
third day he rose again from the dead:
He
ascended into heaven,
and
sits at the right hand of God the Father Almighty:
From
there He will come to judge the living and the dead:
I
believe in the Holy Spirit:
the
holy catholic church:
the
communion of saints:
The
forgiveness of sins:
The
resurrection of the body:
And
the life everlasting.
Amen.

Prayers of the Faithful Now is the time to pray for our stuff :-) Intercessions.
You may want to ask the children to offer
their own prayers or you can use the suggestions here.
Leader: We share all our worries, fears, joys and hopes
with God as we pray together:
Prayer 1. Let us pray for
the church; Pope Francis, our Arch Bishop Dr. Cyprian Lwanga, Priests, and
all the clergy, that as they spread the message of love, as Jesus Christ
instructed, they may not get tired but always have the same zeal as before. We pray to the Lord...
Prayer2
Let us pray for
all civil leaders throughout the world but most especially our leaders in
Uganda, May the good Lord, help them to act with love to bring about a hopeful
change within the heart, may the Holy Spirit guide them to lead their people
with love and respect.
We pray to the Lord...
Prayer 3.
We pray for all
people who are
living in the
darkness of fear, illness or poverty: that through our actions, they may feel
loved and have
hope for a better future.
We pray to the Lord....
Prayer 4. Let us pray for all our
relatives and friends who have died, especially for whom we remember in a
special way at this Mass, Eternal rest grant unto them oh Lord, and let
perpetual light shine upon them.
We pray to the Lord...
==== 7:26 - 7:28 ====
Silently, each one tells God your petition.
We ask this through our Lord Jesus Christ your Son, who lives and reigns
with you and the Holy Spirit, One God, for ever and ever. Amen
