Penitential Rite
Dear little children, let us acknowledge our sins,
and so prepare ourselves to celebrate the sacred mysteries.
Confession of our
sins
I confess to the Almighty God,
and to you, my brothers and sisters,
that I have greatly sinned
in my thoughts and in my words
in what I have done and In what I have failed to
do
-strike
the breast 3 times as you say-
through my fault

through my most grievous fault
THEREFORE I ask Blessed Mary Ever Virgin
all the Angels and Saints
and you, my brothers and sisters
to pray for me to the Lord our God…
Have Mercy on us oh Lord
For we have sinned against you.
Show us, Oh Lord, your mercy
And grant us your salvation.
You were sent to heal the contrite of
heart.
Lord have Mercy
Lord have Mercy
You came to sinners
Christ have mercy
Christ have mercy
You are seated at the right hand of
the father to intercede for us.
Lord have mercy.

May the almighty God have mercy on us,

Liturgy of the Word
Introduce the first reading.
The first reading is from the book of
Isaiah in the Old Testament, or Hebrew Scriptures. (Isaiah 35:4-7). Remember Isaiah was a?<a prophet> Listen closely to what the Lord told prophet
Isaiah to tell his people.
A prepared child/children come and take the reading.
Isaiah
35:4-7
4 Tell everyone who is discouraged,
“Be strong and don't be afraid!
God is coming to your rescue,
coming to punish your enemies.”
5 The blind will be able to see,
and the deaf will hear.
6 The lame will leap and dance,
and those who cannot speak will shout for
joy.
Streams of
water will flow through the desert;
7 the burning sand will become a lake,
and dry land will be filled with springs.
Where
jackals used to live,
marsh grass
and reeds will grow…
“This
is the word of the Lord”
All say “Thanks be to God”.
Ask: What do you think the reading means when it
says “the blind shall see and the deaf shall hear”? <discuss>
Could it mean that those who choose not to see or understand God will change
their minds? <yes>
Say: Let us now focus
on our responsorial Psalm:
< Praise the Lord, my
soul!...> x3
Introducing
the Gospel
Say: Today’s Gospel was taken from the New
Testament book of Mark. (Mark 7:31-37)
Mark tells us
of a time when Jesus performed a miracle.
Can someone tell me what a miracle is?
<something wonderful that
happens that we can’t really explain logically>
...with Alleluia!! –
We sing while standing and
welcome the gospel!!
CHORUS: (‘Halle, halle,
halle’ (Caribbean))
Halle, halle, halle, lu-u-jah!
Halle, halle, halle lu-u-jah!
Halle, halle, halle lu-u-jah!
Hallelujah! Hallelujah!
The leader reading the gospel, silently says: “Cleanse our hearts and our lips almighty God, that we
may worthily proclaim your Holy Gospel”.
The Leader starts: The Lord be with You,
And with your Spirit.
A reading is from the Holy Gospel according to St. Mark.
Glory to You, O Lord
Mark 7:31-37
Jesus
Cures a Deaf Man
31 Then he returned from the region of Tyre, and went by way of
Sidon towards the Sea of Galilee, in the region of the Decapolis. 32
They brought to him a deaf man who had an impediment in his speech; and they
begged him to lay his hand on him. 33 He took him aside in private,
away from the crowd, and put his fingers into his ears, and he spat and touched
his tongue. 34 Then looking up to heaven, he sighed and said to him,
“Ephphatha,” that is, “Be opened.” 35 And immediately his ears were
opened, his tongue was released, and he spoke plainly. 36 Then
Jesus[a] ordered them to tell no one; but the more he ordered them, the more
zealously they proclaimed it. 37 They were astounded beyond measure,
saying, “He has done everything well; he even makes the deaf to hear and the
mute to speak.”
”The Gospel of the Lord”
“Praise to you Lord
Jesus Christ”
==== 7:19 - 7:24 ====
(*) Tell your prepared reflecting story to motivate the children, but
according to the Gospel and children’s level of understanding like in the
suggestions below…
Gospel
reflection:
Say: Does anyone remember what Jesus needed in order to
perform a miracle? <He needed someone to believe in Him -
someone who had faith and opens the door of his/her heart > Does anyone
know what the word “deaf” means? <not able to hear>
Memory
Verse: Mark 7:37
…“He has done everything well; He even makes the deaf to hear and
the mute to speak.”
Let us stand up and we profess our
faith.
Profession of our faith
I
believe in God the Father, Almighty,
creator
of heaven and earth:
And
in Jesus Christ, his only begotten Son, our Lord:
--bow
down--
Who
was conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary:
Suffered
under Pontius Pilate;
was
crucified, died and was buried:
He
descended into hell:
The
third day he rose again from the dead:
He
ascended into heaven,
and
sits at the right hand of God the Father Almighty:
From
there He will come to judge the living and the dead:
I
believe in the Holy Spirit:
the
holy catholic church:
the
communion of saints:
The
forgiveness of sins:
The
resurrection of the body:
And
the life everlasting.
Amen.

Prayers of the Faithful Now is the time to pray for our stuff :-) Intercessions.

to ask the children to offer their own prayers or you can use the suggestions here.
Leader:
We know that God always listens and hears us
when we pray, and so we pray together:…

it may be a voice of truth, speaking out against things that are wrong and
standing up for what is right.... We pray to the Lord...
Prayer2.
We pray for our brothers and
sisters around the world: that they may be able to speak out, make their voices
heard and make a change in their own communities... We pray to the Lord...
Prayer
3. We pray for our parish,
families and friends: that we may listen to others and speak out when we know
that something is wrong, so all people have the chance to live a happy and
healthy life, free from poverty... We pray to the Lord....
Prayer
4. God of all, give us
the courage to stand up and make our voices heard, to speak out for a world
where all people have the chance to live free from poverty... We
pray to the Lord...
