        ==== 7:00 - 7:03 ====
Welcome; In today’s gospel we hear about an amazing thing that happened to Jesus, which showed the disciples just how important He was. A great change came over Him. A voice through a Light from the cloud brought a great change on Christ!!. Let’s think about the changes we can make during Lent.

Entrance Song
Prayer, Fasting, and Alms Giving,
Hands folded in prayer, hand on tummy, outstretched hands
We are meant, to repent.
Knock on heart 3 times
40 days of sacrifice,
One hand with 4 fingers up, one hand in shape of zero
Being super, extra nice,
Bend arms at elbows and swing back and forth
This is Lent. This is Lent.
Right hand out like holding a tray, then same with left.

//V// In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit,
//R// Amen.
//V// May The Grace of our Lord Jesus Christ,
And the love of God,And the fellowship of the Holy Spirit,be with you all.
//R//  And with Your Spirit.

Penitential Rite
Dear little children, let us acknowledge our sins, and so prepare ourselves to celebrate the sacred mysteries.

Confession of our sins
I confess to the Almighty God,
and to you, my brothers and sisters,
that I have greatly sinned
in my thoughts and in my words
in what I have done and In what I have failed to do
-strike the breast 3 times as you say-
through my fault
through my fault
through my most grievous fault
THEREFORE I ask Blessed Mary Ever Virgin
all the Angels and Saints
and you, my brothers and sisters
to pray for me to the Lord our God

Have Mercy on us oh Lord
For we have sinned against you.

Show us, Oh Lord, your mercy
And grant us your salvation.

You were sent to heal the contrite of heart.
Lord have Mercy
Lord have Mercy

You came to sinners
Christ have mercy
Christ have mercy

You are seated at the right hand of the father to intercede for us.
Lord have mercy.
Lord have mercy.
May the almighty God have mercy on us, forgive us our sins and bring us to life everlasting?
AMEN

Liturgy of the Word
First Reading, Introduce the reading.
Say:   Today’s first reading is from the Old Testament, the book of Genesis 15:5-12, 17-18
The reading is about Abraham our great grandfather, He used to speak to God directly. Can you imagine?

A prepared child/children come and take the first reading or second reading.
First Reading
Genesis 15:5-12, 17-18

5 The Lord took him outside and said, “Look at the sky and try to count the stars; you will have as many descendants as that.”

6 Abram put his trust in the Lord, and because of this the Lord was pleased with him and accepted him.
7 Then the Lord said to him, “I am the Lord, who led you out of Ur in Babylonia, to give you this land as your own.”

8 But Abram asked, “Sovereign Lord, how can I know that it will be mine?”
9 He answered, “Bring me a cow, a goat, and a ram, each of them three years old, and a dove and a pigeon.” 10 Abram brought the animals to God, cut them in half, and placed the halves opposite each other in two rows; but he did not cut up the birds. 11 Vultures came down on the bodies, but Abram drove them off.

12 When the sun was going down, Abram fell into a deep sleep, and fear and terror came over him.
17 When the sun had set and it was dark, a smoking fire pot and a flaming torch suddenly appeared and passed between the pieces of the animals. 18 Then and there the Lord made a covenant with Abram. He said, “I promise to give your descendants all this land from the border of Egypt to the Euphrates River.

This is the word of the Lord”
All say “Thanks be to God”.

Ask: What did you hear? <Discus>
Let us focus on our responsorial Psalm:
Be with me, Lord, when I am in trouble....>3x.

Introduce the Gospel

Today’s Gospel reading comes from the book of Luke.  (Lk 9:28-36) Soon after Jesus began his public ministry, he chose to reveal himself as the Son of God to a few of his trusted followers, Peter, James and John.

Now we will stand to get ready to hear the Gospel
In lent period, we shall not sing the hallelujah,
because it’s a time for us to reflect on the
quality of our life style. But another song without an hallelujah can be sang
Praise Him, Praise Him, Praise him in the morning, praise him in the noon-time, Praise Him, Praise Him Praise him when the sun goes down!!

Silently the leader says:” Cleanse my heart and my lips, almighty God, that I may worthily proclaim your Holy Gospel.

The Leader starts: The Lord be with You,
And with your Spirit.
A reading is from the Holy Gospel according to St. Luke.
Glory to You, O Lord.
The Transfiguration

28 About eight days after Jesus said this, he took Peter, John and James with him and went up onto a mountain to pray. 29 As he was praying, the appearance of his face changed, and his clothes became as bright as a flash of lightning. 30 Two men, Moses and Elijah, appeared in glorious splendor, talking with Jesus. 31 They spoke about his departure,[a] which he was about to bring to fulfillment at Jerusalem. 32 Peter and his companions were very sleepy, but when they became fully awake, they saw his glory and the two men standing with him. 33 As the men were leaving Jesus, Peter said to him, “Master, it is good for us to be here. Let us put up three shelters—one for you, one for Moses and one for Elijah.” (He did not know what he was saying.) 34 While he was speaking, a cloud appeared and covered them, and they were afraid as they entered the cloud. 35 A voice came from the cloud, saying, “This is my Son, whom I have chosen; listen to him.” 36 When the voice had spoken, they found that Jesus was alone. The disciples kept this to themselves and did not tell anyone at that time what they had seen
The Gospel of the Lord”
All say; “Praise to you Lord Jesus Christ”
====  7:19 - 7:24 ====
(*) Tell your prepared interesting story according to the Gospel and children’s level of understanding like in the…
Gospel reflection:

Ask: What happened?  <discuss>  Moses and Elijah were holy men that the Apostles had studied for all of their lives. The stories about Moses and Elijah were part of the sacred Scriptures of the Apostles, just as they are for us. Imagine how shocked Peter, James and John were when Moses and Elijah appeared with Jesus, and when Jesus was so bright. 35 A voice came from the cloud, saying, “This is my Son, whom I have chosen; listen to him.” What did this tell the Apostles about Jesus? <that he was more important than Moses and Elijah>  And then to hear God from the sky say that Jesus was his son?  Wow!  How do you think the Apostles felt?

Memory Verse: “Luke 9:35 (…..35 A voice came from the cloud, saying, “This is my Son, whom I have chosen; listen to him.”!’”!”...”)

Let us stand up and we profess our faith.

Profession of our faith
I believe in God the Father, Almighty,
creator of heaven and earth:
And in Jesus Christ, his only begotten Son, our Lord:
         --bow down--
Who was conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary:
Suffered under Pontius Pilate;
was crucified, died and was buried:
He descended into hell:
The third day he rose again from the dead:
He ascended into heaven,
and sits at the right hand of God the Father Almighty:
From there He will come to judge the living and the dead:
I believe in the Holy Spirit:
the holy catholic church:
the communion of saints:
The forgiveness of sins:
The resurrection of the body:
And the life everlasting. Amen.
