Penitential Rite
Dear little children, let us acknowledge our sins,
and so prepare ourselves to celebrate the sacred mysteries.
Confession of our sins
I confess to the Almighty God,
and to you, my brothers and sisters,
that I have greatly sinned
in my thoughts and in my words
in what I have done and In what I have failed to do
-strike the breast 3 times as you say-
through my fault
through my fault
through my most grievous fault
THEREFORE I ask Blessed Mary Ever Virgin
all the Angels and Saints
and you, my brothers and sisters
to pray for me to the Lord our God
Have Mercy on us oh Lord
For we have sinned against you

Show us, Oh Lord, your mercy
And grant us your salvation
You were sent to heal the contrite of heart
Lord have Mercy
Lord have Mercy
You came to sinners
Christ have mercy
Christ have mercy
You are seated at the right hand of the father to intercede for us.
Lord have mercy
Lord have mercy
May the almighty God have mercy on us, forgive us our sins and bring us to life everlasting
AMEN

Liturgy of the Word
First Reading
The Book of Acts is all about the time after Christ rose from the dead – but before the feast of Pentecost.  Does anyone remember who Jesus chose to lead his new church?  <Peter> Listen closely to this passage and see if you can discover why he was chosen?
Acts 5:27-32
27 And when they had brought them, they set them before the council. And the high priest questioned them, 28 saying, “We strictly charged you not to teach in this name, yet here you have filled Jerusalem with your teaching, and you intend to bring this man's blood upon us.” 29 But Peter and the apostles answered, “We must obey God rather than men. 30 The God of our fathers raised Jesus, whom you killed by hanging him on a tree. 31 God exalted him at his right hand as Leader and Savior, to give repentance to Israel and forgiveness of sins. 32 And we are witnesses to these things, and so is the Holy Spirit, whom God has given to those who obey him.”
40 and when they had called on the apostles, they beat them and charged them not to speak in the name of Jesus, and let them go. 41 Then they left the presence of the council, rejoicing that they were counted worthy to suffer dishonor for the name.
This is the word of the Lord
All say “Thanks be to God”.

Responsorial Psalm

I will praise you, Lord, for you have rescued me.

Introducing the Gospel

Today’s Gospel reading comes from the book of John.  ((Jn 21:1-14)  This reading tells us again about one of the times that Jesus appeared to his friends after the resurrection. Actually the 3rd time.

The Gospel reading is from the book of ...” John 21:1-14

And at the end, leader says “The Gospel of the Lord” and all repeat “Glory and praise to you Lord, Jesus Christ
Jesus Appears to Seven Disciples and they had Breakfast With Jesus at the BeachJ
21 After this, Jesus appeared once more to his disciples at Lake Tiberias. This is how it happened. 2 Simon Peter, Thomas (called the Twin), Nathanael (the one from Cana in Galilee), the sons of Zebedee, and two other disciples of Jesus were all together. 3 Simon Peter said to the others, “I am going fishing.”
“We will come with you,” they told him. So they went out in a boat, but all that night they did not catch a thing. 4 As the sun was rising, Jesus stood at the water's edge, but the disciples did not know that it was Jesus. 5 Then he asked them, “Young men, haven't you caught anything?”
“Not a thing,” they answered.
6 He said to them, “Throw your net out on the right side of the boat, and you will catch some.” So they threw the net out and could not pull it back in, because they had caught so many fish. 7 The disciple whom Jesus loved said to Peter, “It is the Lord!” When Peter heard that it was the Lord, he wrapped his outer garment around him (for he had taken his clothes off) and jumped into the water. 8 The other disciples came to shore in the boat, pulling the net full of fish. They were not very far from land, about a hundred yards away. 9 When they stepped ashore, they saw a charcoal fire there with fish on it and some bread. 10 Then Jesus said to them, “Bring some of the fish you have just caught.”
11 Simon Peter went aboard and dragged the net ashore full of big fish, a hundred and fifty-three in all; even though there were so many, still the net did not tear. 12 Jesus said to them, “Come and eat.” None of the disciples dared ask him, “Who are you?” because they knew it was the Lord. 13 So Jesus went over, took the bread, and gave it to them; he did the same with the fish.
14 This, then, was the third time Jesus appeared to the disciples after he was raised from death.
“Gospel of the Lord”
Glory and praise to you Lord, Jesus Christ”
(*)Tell an interesting story according to the Gospel and children’s level of understanding like in the Gospel reflection:
====  7:24 - 7:27 ====
Gospel Reflection.
Ask:  What happened?  <discuss>  Because Jesus kept appearing to the Apostles, they knew that they had a special job to do.  They were still confused and trying to figure it all out – but it became very obvious that something really important was going on – and they were part of it.
Did anything else strike you as important about this Gospel?  < the symbolism of sharing the meal – Eucharist, or anything else that the children notice>

Profession of our faith
I believe in God the Father, Almighty,
Creator of heaven and earth:
And in Jesus Christ, his only begotten Son, our Lord:          --bow down--
Who was conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit,
born of the Virgin Mary:
Suffered under Pontius Pilate;
was crucified, died and was buried:
He descended into hell:
And the third day he rose again from the dead:
He ascended into heaven,
and seated at the right hand of God the Father Almighty:
From there He shall come again to judge the living and the dead:
I believe in the Holy Spirit:
the holy catholic church:
the communion of saints:
The forgiveness of sins:
The resurrection of the body:
And the life everlasting.
Amen.

Prayer of the Faithful
Now is the time to pray for our stuff :-)Intercessions You may want to ask the children to offer their own prayers or you can use the suggestions below.

Jesus made time to sit and eat with his disciples and so knowing that he will listen to us, we pray together:

Prayer 1 We pray for world church leaders: our Pope Francis the first, Bishops and all the clergy,  that they may continue God’s work, reaching out to those who are afraid.. may be filled with courage, by telling people that are frightened that Jesus came to bring peace and happiness We pray to the Lord…

Prayer 2 We pray for our parish, family and friends: that we may be there for those who need our help and support as Jesus was there for his disciples, and welcome all people to share in the food we have been given by God.. We pray to the Lord…

Prayer 3 Loving Jesus, you came to your friends when they had lost hope. Help us always to believe in you and to spread your hope all over the world, especially to those people who are frightened. We pray to the Lord…
