Penitential Rite

Dear little children, let us acknowledge our sins,

and so prepare ourselves to celebrate the sacred mysteries.

Confession of our sins

I confess to the Almighty God,

and to you, my brothers and sisters,

that I have greatly sinned

in my thoughts and in my words

in what I have done and In what I have failed to do

-strike the breast 3 times as you say-

through my fault

through my fault

through my most grievous fault

THEREFORE I ask Blessed Mary Ever Virgin

all the Angels and Saints

and you, my brothers and sisters

to pray for me to the Lord our God…

Have Mercy on us oh Lord

For we have sinned against you.

Show us, Oh Lord, your mercy

And grant us your salvation.

You were sent to heal the contrite of heart.

Lord have Mercy

Lord have Mercy

You came to sinners

Christ have mercy

Christ have mercy

You are seated at the right hand of the father to intercede for us.

Lord have mercy.

Lord have mercy.

May the almighty God have mercy on us, forgive us our sins and bring us to life everlasting?

AMEN

Liturgy of the Word

Introduce the first reading.

B: In this reading, we hear what happened to Moses when he took tables of stone.

A prepared child/children come and take the reading.

Exodus 34:4-6, 8-9(NRSVCE)

Moses on Mount Sinai with God!

4 So Moses cut two tablets of stone like the former ones; and he rose early in the morning and went up on Mount Sinai, as the Lord had commanded him, and took in his hand the two tablets of stone. 5 The Lord descended in the cloud and stood with him there, and proclaimed the name, “The Lord.6 The Lord passed before him, and proclaimed,

“The Lord, the Lord,

a God merciful and gracious,

slow to anger,

and abounding in steadfast love and faithfulness,

8 And Moses quickly bowed his head toward the earth, and worshiped. 9 He said, “If now I have found favor in your sight, O Lord, I pray, let the Lord go with us. Although this is a stiff-necked people, pardon our iniquity and our sin, and take us for your inheritance.”

This is the word of the Lord”

All say “Thanks be to God”.

Ask: What happened to Moses?  <let the children share> What did he see?  <Lord God>God descended in the cloud and stood with Moses on mount Sinai!> Moses is the most beloved man on earth after Jesus! He saw God! thought not His eyes >

Say: Let us now focus on our responsorial Psalm:

Glory and praise forever!3x

Introducing the Gospel

Say:The Gospel reading today tells us how God so loved the world that He sent His only son to save the world. Let us listen and reflect on what hear.

...with Alleluia!! –

We sing while standing and welcome the gospel!!

1.   Eyende mbele, Halleluiah x3 Yelele yelele Halleluiah.

2.   Moto, moto, Halleluiah x3 Yelele yelele Halleluiah.

The leader reading the gospel, silently says: Cleanse our hearts and our lips almighty God, that we may worthily proclaim your Holy Gospel.

The Leader starts: The Lord be with You,

AndwithyourSpirit.

A reading is from the Holy Gospel according to St. John.

Glory to You, O Lord

John 3:16-18 (NRSVCE)

Only Son of God sent on Earth.

16 “For God so loved the world that He gave His only Son, so that everyone who believes in Him may not perish but may have eternal life.

17 “Indeed, God did not send the Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through Him. 18 Those who believe in Him are not condemned; but those who do not believe are condemned already, because they have not believed in the name of the only Son of God.

The Gospel of the Lord”

Profession of our faith

I believe in God the Father, Almighty,

creator of heaven and earth:

And in Jesus Christ, his only begotten Son, our Lord:

         --bow down--

Who was conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary:

Suffered under Pontius Pilate;

was crucified, died and was buried:

He descended into hell:

The third day he rose again from the dead:

He ascended into heaven,

and sits at the right hand of God the Father Almighty:

From there He will come to judge the living and the dead:

I believe in the Holy Spirit:

the holy catholic church:

the communion of saints:

The forgiveness of sins:

The resurrection of the body:

And the life everlasting.
