Sunday 11th October, 2020
Preparing the worship space.
Colour: Green
Theme: A Cake.

         ====  7:00 - 7:03 ====
Welcome: Today we hear a story about a king who invites lots of different people to the wedding of his son. When do we have cakes?  <when there is a party> Can anyone tell me what we do when we want to have a party?  <we are happy, we decorate, we ask people to come> When you invite people to a party, how does it make you feel when they say YES?  <happy> When they say NO how does it feel?  <sad>

Yes, heaven is like a party that God is preparing for us, we are going to talk a little bit about heaven.

                  ==== 7:00 - 7:03 ===
Entrance Song
Bind Us Together
BIND US TOGETHER, Lord, Bind us together
With cords that cannot be broken.
Bind us together, Lord,
Bind us together,
Bind us together with love.

There is only one God,
There is only one King;
There is only one Body,
That is why we sing:

Made for the glory of God,
Purchased by His precious Son;
Born with the right to be clean,
For Jesus the victory has won.
Ask: What was last week’s theme? <“The Glope....”> We A man who has real trouble with the tenants who are looking after his vineyard, they never gave him his fair share.

//V// In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.
//R// Amen.
//V// May The Grace of our Lord Jesus Christ,
And the love of God,
And the fellowship of the Holy Spirit,
be with you all.
//R//  And with Your Spirit.

For we have sinned against you.

Show us, Oh Lord, your mercy
And grant us your salvation.

You were sent to heal the contrite of heart.
Lord have Mercy

Liturgy of the Word
Introduction of the first reading.
Today’s first reading, Isaiah (Isaiah 25:6-10a). tells us something that God will do for us.  Pretend that you are one of the people listening to Isaiah.  See if you can hear one thing that the Lord will do for us..
A prepared child/children come and take the reading.

Isaiah 25:6-10 (GNT)

God Prepares a Banquet
6 Here on Mount Zion the Lord Almighty will prepare a banquet for all the nations of the world—a banquet of the richest food and the finest wine. 7 Here he will suddenly remove the cloud of sorrow that has been hanging over all the nations. 8 The Sovereign Lord will destroy death forever! He will wipe away the tears from everyone's eyes and take away the disgrace his people have suffered throughout the world. The Lord himself has spoken.

9 When it happens, everyone will say, “He is our God! We have put our trust in him, and he has rescued us. He is the Lord! We have put our trust in him, and now we are happy and joyful because he has saved us.”

God Will Punish Moab
10 The Lord will protect Mount Zion, but the people of Moab will be trampled down the way straw is trampled in manure..
This is the word of the Lord;
All say “Thanks be to God”.

Ask: What did you hear?  <the Lord will prepare a feast on the mountain, destroy the power of death, wipe away every tear, save the people, protect the mountain>

Let us now focus on our responsorial Psalm:
< I shall live in the house of the Lord all the days of my life....…> 3x

Introducing the Gospel

Say: Today’s Gospel reading is from Matthew, he tells us about another parable Jesus used to teach about what God wants for us.  In biblical times, the Jewish people believed that God was available just for them.  They believed that if they followed all the rules of their church, they would go straight to heaven. And they definitely believed that if you were NOT Jewish, that you could not go to heaven.
 Let us listen to a story about a man who wanted to give a great party.  Pretend that you are a Jewish child listening to Jesus tell this story.
....with Alleluia!! –
We sing while standing and welcome the gospel!!
Chorus:    Halleluiah, Halleluiah x3 Yelele yelele Halleluiah.
1.    Eyende mbele, Halleluiah x3 Yelele yelele Halleluiah. 2.   Moto, moto, Halleluiah x3 Yelele yelele Halleluiah

The leader reading the gospel, silently says: “Cleanse our hearts and our lips almighty God, that we may worthily proclaim your Holy Gospel”.
The Leader starts:
-The Lord be with You,
-And with your Spirit.
A reading is from the Holy Gospel according to St. Matthew.
Glory to You, O Lord

Matthew 22:1-10 (GNT)
The Parable of the Wedding Feast.

22 Jesus again used parables in talking to the people. 2 “The Kingdom of heaven is like this. Once there was a king who prepared a wedding feast for his son. 3 He sent his servants to tell the invited guests to come to the feast, but they did not want to come. 4 So he sent other servants with this message for the guests: ‘My feast is ready now; my steers and prize calves have been butchered, and everything is ready. Come to the wedding feast!’ 5 But the invited guests paid no attention and went about their business: one went to his farm, another to his store, 6 while others grabbed the servants, beat them, and killed them. 7 The king was very angry; so he sent his soldiers, who killed those murderers and burned down their city. 8 Then he called his servants and said to them, ‘My wedding feast is ready, but the people I invited did not deserve it. 9 Now go to the main streets and invite to the feast as many people as you find.’ 10 So the servants went out into the streets and gathered all the people they could find, good and bad alike; and the wedding hall was filled with people.
“The Gospel of the Lord”
All say “Praise to you Lord Jesus Christ”.
====  7:19 - 7:24 ====
(*) Tell your prepared reflecting story to motivate the children, but according to the Gospel and at children’s level of understanding like in the suggestions below…

Gospel reflection:
Say:  So, the invited guests didn’t listen or come and the King went out and invited everyone off the streets to come to his party. If you were Jewish (one of the people chosen by God) in biblical times, what do you think this story might mean?  <that just being invited is not enough, you have to accept the invitation.>

  God wants us all to come to his party.  We just have to listen to Him and follow His laws of love.  A few weeks ago, we talked about how God is always near, we just have to talk to Him.  God wants us to be close to Him.  It’s our job to always remember that God is right there!

Memory Verse: Mathew
“Matthew 22:9 “…. < “Now go to the main streets and invite to the feast as many people as you find.”.>....”
Let us stand up and we profess our faith.

Profession of our faith
I believe in God the Father, Almighty,
creator of heaven and earth:
And in Jesus Christ, his only begotten Son, our Lord:
         --bow down--
Who was conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary:
Suffered under Pontius Pilate;
was crucified, died and was buried:
He descended into hell:
The third day he rose again from the dead:
He ascended into heaven,
and sits at the right hand of God the Father Almighty:
From there He will come to judge the living and the dead:
I believe in the Holy Spirit:
the holy catholic church:
the communion of saints:
The forgiveness of sins:
The resurrection of the body:
And the life everlasting.
Amen.
