Song:
Chorus.
1.
God’s Spirit is in my heart
He has called me and set me apart
This is what I have to do
What I have to do
REFRAIN:
He sent me to give the Good News to the poor
Tell prisoners that they are prisoners no more
Tell blind people that they can see
And set the down-trodden free
And go tell everyone the news that the Kingdom of God has come
And go tell everyone the news that God’s kingdom has come
2. Just as the Father sent me
So I’m sending you out to be
My witnesses throughout the world
The whole of the world
3. Don’t carry a load in your pack
You don’t need two shirts on your back
A workman can earn his own keep
Can earn his own keep
4. Don’t worry what you have to say
Don’t worry because on that day
God’s Spirit will speak in your heart
Will speak in your heart
He has called me and set me apart
This is what I have to do
What I have to do
REFRAIN:
He sent me to give the Good News to the poor
Tell prisoners that they are prisoners no more
Tell blind people that they can see
And set the down-trodden free
And go tell everyone the news that the Kingdom of God has come
And go tell everyone the news that God’s kingdom has come

So I’m sending you out to be

The whole of the world

We
are the people.....
Welcome:
We
do not always understand things straight away, we need someone to
teach us and to explain to us all the different things that we see in
the world. Jesus teaches his disciples in today’s gospel story.
Let’s think about how we learn today.
Focus:
<Lord,
let your face shine on us....>
In
the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the HolySpirit. Amen.
May
The Grace of our Lord Jesus Christ,
And
the love of God,
And
the fellowship of the Holy Spirit,
be
with you all.
And
with Your Spirit.

Liturgy
of the Word
First
Reading
Say:
Today’s
first reading is from the New Testament book called the Acts of the
Apostles. Acts
3:13-15, 17-19
Usually
we hear a reading from the Old Testament before the Gospel reading.
During the Easter season, we will hear from the New Testament book of
Acts... Does anyone remember why that would be? <because in Acts
we learn about the days of the early church – and during the Easter
season, the church spends time studying how the early church was
formed in the days after Jesus’ death and Resurrection>
Now
give to the child to start reading the first reading below.
Today’s
first reading is from the first New Testament book of Acts. (Acts
3:13-15, 17-19)
13
The God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, the God of our ancestors, has
given divine glory to his Servant Jesus. But you handed him over to
the authorities, and you rejected him in Pilate's presence, even
after Pilate had decided to set him free. 14 He was holy and good,
but you rejected him, and instead you asked Pilate to do you the
favor of turning loose a murderer. 15 You killed the one who leads to
life, but God raised him from death—and we are witnesses to this.
17
“And now, my friends, I know that what you and your leaders did to
Jesus was due to your ignorance. 18 God announced long ago through
all the prophets that his Messiah had to suffer; and he made it come
true in this way. 19 Repent, then, and turn to God, so that he will
forgive your sins. If you do,
This
is the word of the Lord,
All
say “Thanks
be to God”.
..with
Alleluia!! -
Welcoming
the Gospel
Alle-llu,
Alle-llu, Alle-llu, Alle-lluia,
Lets
praise the Lord...
Alle-llu,
Alle-llu, Alle-llu, Alle-lluia,
Lets
praise the Lord...
Alle..lluia,
Lets praise the Lord...
Alle..lluia,
Lets praise the Lord...
Alle..lluia,
Lets praise the Lord...
Alle..lluia,
Lets praise the Lord...
Silently
say:
”Cleanse my heart and my lips, almighty God, that I may worthily
proclaim your Holy Gospel to your little children.
The
Lord be with You,
AND
with your Spirit
The
Gospel reading is from the book of ...”John
20:19-31
And
at the end, say “The
Gospel of the Lord”
and all repeat “Glory
and praise to you Lord, Jesus Christ”
35
The two then explained to them what had happened on the road, and how
they had recognized the Lord when he broke the bread.
Jesus
Appears to His Disciples
36
While the two were telling them this, suddenly the Lord himself stood
among them and said to them, “Peace be with you.”[a]
37
They were terrified, thinking that they were seeing a ghost. 38 But
he said to them, “Why are you alarmed? Why are these doubts coming
up in your minds? 39 Look at my hands and my feet, and see that it is
I myself. Feel me, and you will know, for a ghost doesn't have flesh
and bones, as you can see I have.”
40
He said this and showed them his hands and his feet.[b] 41 They still
could not believe, they were so full of joy and wonder; so he asked
them, “Do you have anything here to eat?” 42 They gave him a
piece of cooked fish, 43 which he took and ate in their presence.
44
Then he said to them, “These are the very things I told you about
while I was still with you: everything written about me in the Law of
Moses, the writings of the prophets, and the Psalms had to come
true.”
45
Then he opened their minds to understand the Scriptures, 46 and said
to them, “This is what is written: the Messiah must suffer and must
rise from death three days later, 47 and in his name the message
about repentance and the forgiveness of sins must be preached to all
nations, beginning in Jerusalem. 48 You are witnesses of these
things.
“Gospel
of the Lord”,
“Praise to you Lord Jesus Christ”
(*)Tell
an interesting story according to the Gospel
and children’s level of understanding like in the Gospel
reflection:

Gospel
Reflection.
Ask:
What
do you remember about the reading today?
The
disciples were talking to each other when suddenly Jesus appears
amongst them.
When
Jesus appeared to the disciples, they thought they had seen a ghost.
How would you feel if you thought you had seen a ghost?
Jesus
explained to his friends all that it said in the Scriptures about
him. The disciples then understood that Jesus had risen from the dead
and was the Son of God. They truly believed in him, and they were
happy.
Learning
and understanding is very important. Who helps you to learn? Who do
you ask when you don’t understand something?
Our
teacher is one person who helps us to learn and to understand the
world around us.
Profession
of our faith
I
believe in God the Father, Almighty,
Creator
of heaven and earth:
And
in Jesus Christ, his only begotten Son, our Lord:
--bow
down--
Who
was conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit,
born
of the Virgin Mary:
Suffered
under Pontius Pilate;
was
crucified, died and was buried:
He
descended into hell:
And
the third day He rose again from the dead:
He
ascended into heaven,
and
seated at the right hand of God the Father Almighty:
From
there He shall come again to judge the leaving and the dead:
I
believe in the Holy Spirit:
the
holy catholic church:
the
communion of saints:
The
forgiveness of sins:
The
resurrection of the body:
And
the life everlasting.
Amen.
