Today Today we are going to hear about how the disciples were hiding and afraid, but Jesus appeared to them and gave them courage. Let’s think about what we are scared of, who makes us feel better, and how we can help other people around the world who are afraid?
Focus:
<Give thanks for the Lord is good.  God’s love is everlasting...>
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the HolySpirit. Amen.
May The Grace of our Lord Jesus Christ,
And the love of God,
And the fellowship of the Holy Spirit,
be with you all.
And with Your Spirit.

Penitential Rite
Dear little children, let us acknowledge our sins,
and so prepare ourselves to celebrate the sacred mysteries.
Confession of our sins
I confess to the Almighty God,
and to you, my brothers and sisters,
that I have greatly sinned
in my thoughts and in my words
in what I have done and In what I have failed to do
-strike the breast 3 times as you say-
through my fault
through my fault
through my most grievous fault
THEREFORE I ask Blessed Mary Ever Virgin
all the Angels and Saints
and you, my brothers and sisters
to pray for me to the Lord our God
Have Mercy on us oh Lord
For we have sinned against you

Show us, Oh Lord, your mercy
And grant us your salvation
You were sent to heal the contrite of heart
Lord have Mercy
Lord have Mercy
You came to sinners
Christ have mercy
Christ have mercy
You are seated at the right hand of the father to intercede for us.
Lord have mercy
Lord have mercy
May the almighty God have mercy on us, forgive us our sins and bring us to life everlasting
AMEN

Liturgy of the Word
First Reading
Say: Today’s first reading is from the New Testament book called the Acts of the Apostles. (Acts 4:32-35Today’s first reading is from the first New Testament book of Acts. (Acts 4:32-35)  Acts of the Apostles tells us all about the days after Easter when the Apostles were trying to understand what happened to their friend Jesus and what they were supposed to do.  This reading in Acts tells us a little about how the Apostles lived.

Today’s first reading is from the first New Testament book of Acts. (Acts 4:32-35)

The Believers Share What They Own
32 All the believers were agreed in heart and mind. They didn’t claim that anything they had was their own. Instead, they shared everything they owned. 33 With great power the apostles continued their teaching. They were telling people that the Lord Jesus had risen from the dead.

And God’s grace was working powerfully in all of them. 34 So there were no needy persons among them. From time to time, those who owned land or houses sold them. They brought the money from the sales. 35 They put it down at the apostles’ feet. It was then given out to anyone who needed it.

This is the word of the Lord
All say “Thanks be to God”.

Jesus Appears to His Disciples
Jesus Appears to Thomas
24 Thomas was one of the 12 disciples. He was also called Didymus. He was not with the other disciples when Jesus came. 25 So they told him, “We have seen the Lord!”
But he said to them, “First I must see the nail marks in his hands. I must put my finger where the nails were. I must put my hand into his side. Only then will I believe.”
26 A week later, Jesus’ disciples were in the house again. Thomas was with them. Even though the doors were locked, Jesus came in and stood among them. He said, “May peace be with you!” 27 Then he said to Thomas, “Put your finger here. See my hands. Reach out your hand and put it into my side. Stop doubting and believe.”
28 Thomas said to him, “My Lord and my God!”
29 Then Jesus told him, “Because you have seen me, you have believed. Blessed are those who have not seen me but still have believed.”

Gospel Reflection.
Ask:  What do you remember about the reading today?
After Jesus’ death the disciples were scared and hiding from people who they thought would hurt them. Why do you think the disciples were so afraid?
They thought that the people who put Jesus to death, may also come to hurt them because they were Jesus’ friends and believed in him.
Can you think about a time when you were frightened? What scares you the most? Spiders? The dark? Thunder and lightning?
But then Jesus came to them and stood with them in the room they were in. Can you remember what Jesus said to the disciples? How did the disciples feel when they saw that Jesus had risen from the dead?
Who makes you feel brave and happy again when you are afraid? What do they do to make you feel better?
Jesus came to give his disciples peace, hope and courage to face the future. He tells them not to be afraid and to go out into the world to tell others about the good news of the gospel.
Profession of our faith.

I believe in God the Father, Almighty,
Creator of heaven and earth:
And in Jesus Christ, his only begotten Son, our Lord:
--bow down--
Who was conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit,
born of the Virgin Mary:
Suffered under Pontius Pilate;
was crucified, died and was buried:
He descended into hell:
And the third day he rose again from the dead:
He ascended into heaven,
and seated at the right hand of God the Father Almighty:
From there He shall come again to judge the leaving and the dead:
I believe in the Holy Spirit:
the holy catholic church:
the communion of saints:
The forgiveness of sins:
The resurrection of the body:
And the life everlasting.
Amen.

Prayer of the Faithful
Now is the time to pray for our stuff :-)Intercessions You may want to ask the children to offer their own prayers or you can use the suggestions below.

Filled with hope, we pray together:

Prayer 1 We pray for world church leaders: our Pope Francis the first, Bishops and all the clergy,  that they may continue God’s work, reaching out to those who are afraid.. may be filled with courage, by telling people that are frightened that Jesus came to bring peace and happiness. Lord, hear us…

Prayer 2 We pray for our parish, family and friends: that through our actions we may bring hope and have courage and show our faith in Jesus in all that we do.. Lord, hear us…

Prayer 3 Loving Jesus, you came to your friends when they had lost hope. Help us always to believe in you and to spread your hope all over the world, especially to those people who are frightened. Lord, hear us....

Ask the children close their eyes and give in their petitions silently and conclude after 10seconds in words below

We ask this through our Lord Jesus Christ your Son,who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit,One God, for ever and ever.Amen
