FocusMemory Verse

John 14:27 “I leave you peace. My peace I give you.-- Don’t be afraid..”

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

May The Grace of our Lord Jesus Christ,

Penitential Rite

Dear little children, let us acknowledge our sins,

and so prepare ourselves to celebrate the sacred mysteries.

Confession of our sins

I confess to the Almighty God,

and to you, my brothers and sisters,

that I have greatly sinned

in my thoughts and in my words

in what I have done and In what I have failed to do  -strike the breast 3 times as you say-

through my fault

through my fault

through my most grievous fault

THEREFORE I ask Blessed Mary Ever Virgin

all the Angels and Saints

and you, my brothers and sisters

to pray for me to the Lord our God

Have Mercy on us oh Lord

For we have sinned against you

Show us, Oh Lord, your mercy

And grant us your salvation

You were sent to heal the contrite of heart

Lord have Mercy

Lord have Mercy

You came to sinners

Christ have mercy

Christ have mercy

You are seated at the right hand of the father to intercede for us.

Lord have mercy

Lord have mercy

May the almighty God have mercy on us, forgive us our sins and bring us to life everlasting

AMEN

Liturgy of the Word

First Reading

This reading tells about what happened to Jesus!  Jesus promised something to the Apostles.  Listen carefully and see if you can hear what that promise was.

Now give to the child to start reading the first reading below.

Today’s first reading is from the first New Testament book of Acts 1:8-11 (ICB)

8 But the Holy Spirit will come to you. Then you will receive power. You will be my witnesses—in Jerusalem, in all of Judea, in Samaria, and in every part of the world.”

9 After he said this, as they were watching, he was lifted up. A cloud hid him from their sight. 10 As he was going, they were looking into the sky. Suddenly, two men wearing white clothes stood beside them. 11 They said, “Men of Galilee, why are you standing here looking into the sky? You saw Jesus taken away from you into heaven. He will come back in the same way you saw him go.”

The word of the Lord, …

Thanks be to God.

Ask:  What is the promise that Jesus made to the Apostles?  <He promised that the Holy Spirit would come to them and give them strength>  Then what happened?  <Jesus rose up into heaven>  Do you think that the Holy Spirit will come and give you strength too?

Responsorial Psalm

God mounts the throne to shouts of joy.

Introducing the Gospel

The disciples knew that Jesus was the Son of God. And that even though he was now with God, rather than on earth, Jesus would always be with them. Listen to the whole story

..with Alleluia!! -

Welcoming the Gospel

Good News today, Yes good news, good news today, good news today, the news of Salavation. Alle-luiaAlle, Alle-luia, Alle- luia, A—lleluia x2

Silently say:” Cleanse my heart and my lips, almighty God, that I may worthily proclaim your Holy Gospel to your little children.

The Lord be with You...

AND with your Spirit.

The Gospel reading is from the book of...” Luke 24:46-53(ICB)

46 He said to them, “It is written that the Christ would be killed and rise from death on the third day. 47-48 You saw these things happen—you are witnesses. You must tell people to change their hearts and lives. If they do this, their sins will be forgiven. You must start at Jerusalem and preach these things in my name to all nations. 49 Listen! My Father has promised you something; I will send it to you. But you must stay in Jerusalem until you have received that power from heaven.”

Jesus Goes Back to Heaven

50 Jesus led his followers out of Jerusalem almost to Bethany. He raised his hands and blessed them. 51 While he was blessing them, he was separated from them and carried into heaven. 52 They worshiped him and then went back to the city very happy. 53 They stayed in the Temple all the time, praising God.

“The Gospel of the Lord”,

“Praise to you Lord Jesus Christ”

(*)Tell an interesting story according to the Gospel and children’s level of understanding like in the Gospel reflection:

Gospel Reflection.

AskHow did the disciples feel when Jesus left them?

Why do you think they were joyful? Why weren’t they sad that Jesus had left them?

The disciples knew that Jesus was the Son of God. And that even though he was now with God, rather than on earth, Jesus would always be with them.

Ask: How does it make you feel to know that Jesus loves you and is always with you?

 Profession of our faith

I believe in God the Father, Almighty, Creator of heaven and earth: And in Jesus Christ, his only begotten Son, our Lord:

 --bow down--

Who was conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit,

born of the Virgin Mary:

Suffered under Pontius Pilate;

was crucified, died and was buried: He descended into hell:

And the third day He rose again from the dead: He ascended into heaven, and seated at the right hand of God the Father Almighty:

From there He shall come again to judge the leaving and the dead:

I believe in the Holy Spirit:

the holy catholic church:

the communion of saints:

The forgiveness of sins:

The resurrection of the body:

And the life everlasting.

Amen.

Prayers of the Faithful

Now is the time to pray for our stuff :-) Intercessions:  You may want to ask the children to offer their own prayers or you can use the suggestions below.

It is not always easy to live in peace with others, and so we pray together for God’s help:

Prayer 1. We pray for the Church throughout the world: that it may be a place of joy, spreading the message of God’s love for everyone.. We pray to the Lord...

Prayer 2. We pray for all children around the world: that they may live happy and healthy lives free from poverty. We pray to the Lord....

Prayer 3 We pray for our parish, family and friends: that we may spread happiness throughout the world, by being kind and generous and sharing what we have so that all people may have enough.  We pray to the Lord....

Prayer 4. Let us pray thanking God for all the good things He has given us and for the happiness we feel. Help us dear Father to share what we have with each other, so that all people may be filled with joy. We pray to the Lord....

Ask the children close their eyes and give in their petitions silently and conclude after 10seconds in words below

We ask this through our Lord Jesus Christ your Son,who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit,One God, for ever and ever.Amen

Then...
