Preparing the worship space
Colour: Green
Theme:    A Star

Welcome:
Today’s readings are about the time when Jesus will come again. We do not know when this will be, but we must try to be ready. A star represents how beautiful we are when we behave the way God asks us to…

Ask: Last week you must have heard about? <Giving > (Jesus said,< …“I tell you that this poor widow put more in the offering box than all the others>..)

Christ, be our light! Shine in our hearts. Shine through the darkness. Christ, be our light! Shine in your church gathered today.

Longing for peace, our world is troubled.
Longing for hope, many despair.
Your word alone has pow'r to save us.
Make us your living voice.

Penitential Rite
Dear little children, let us acknowledge our sins,
and so prepare ourselves to celebrate the sacred mysteries.
Confession of our sins
I confess to the Almighty God,
and to you, my brothers and sisters,
that I have greatly sinned
in my thoughts and in my words
in what I have done and In what I have failed to do
-strike the breast 3 times as you say-
through my fault
through my fault
through my most grievous fault
THEREFORE I ask Blessed Mary Ever Virgin
all the Angels and Saints
and you, my brothers and sisters
to pray for me to the Lord our God…
Have Mercy on us oh Lord
For we have sinned against you.
Show us, Oh Lord, your mercy
And grant us your salvation.

You were sent to heal the contrite of heart.
Lord have Mercy
Lord have Mercy

You came to sinners
Christ have mercy
Christ have mercy

You are seated at the right hand of the father to intercede for us.
Lord have mercy.
Lord have mercy.

May the almighty God have mercy on us, forgive us our sins and bring us to life everlasting?
AMEN

Liturgy of the Word
Introduce the first reading.
Today’s first reading is from the Old Testament, the book of prophet Daniel 12:1-3, It is one of the stories in the Bible that tells us what will happen at the end of the world.
A prepared child/children come and take the reading.
First reading.
Daniel 12:1-3

The Time of the End
12 1The angel wearing linen clothes said, “At that time the great angel Michael, who guards your people, will appear. Then there will be a time of troubles, the worst since nations first came into existence. When that time comes, all the people of your nation whose names are written in God's book will be saved. Many of those who have already died will live again: some will enjoy eternal life, and some will suffer eternal disgrace. [a]The wise leaders will shine with all the brightness of the sky. And those who have taught many people to do what is right will shine like the stars forever.”
This is the word of the Lord”
All say “Thanks be to God”.
Ask:  Who knows angel Michael? :-)
(He is an Arch Angel that fights against evil Spirit.)
Say: Let us now focus on our responsorial Psalm:
< Keep me safe, O God, you are my hope…> x3

Introducing the Gospel
Say: The Gospel selection today is from the book of Mark 13:24-32.  In this reading, we hear about the end of the world.  It is hard to imagine that the world will end.  Sometimes it’s hard to imagine that there is a better world than this one. But the bible tells us that heaven is so much better. And this is part of what we believe as Christians. Just like we believe that Jesus died and rose for our sins, we believe that one day we will be with God in heaven.

...with Alleluia!! –
everyone stands and sings the acclamation together. Suggestions include:!!

CHORUS: (‘Halle, halle, halle’ (Caribbean))
Halle, halle, halle, lu-u-jah!
Halle, halle, halle lu-u-jah!
Halle, halle, halle lu-u-jah!
Hallelujah! Hallelujah!

The leader reading the gospel, silently says: Cleanse our hearts and our lips almighty God, that we may worthily proclaim your Holy Gospel.
The Leader starts: The Lord be with You,
And with your Spirit.
A reading is from the Holy Gospel according to St. Mark.
Glory to You, O Lord

Mark 13:24-32 (GNT)

The Coming of the Son of Man
24 “In the days after that time of trouble the sun will grow dark, the moon will no longer shine, 25 the stars will fall from heaven, and the powers in space will be driven from their courses. 26 Then the Son of Man will appear, coming in the clouds with great power and glory. 27 He will send the angels out to the four corners of the earth to gather God's chosen people from one end of the world to the other.

The Lesson of the Fig Tree

28 “Let the fig tree teach you a lesson. When its branches become green and tender and it starts putting out leaves, you know that summer is near. 29 In the same way, when you see these things happening, you will know that the time is near, ready to begin.[a] 30 Remember that all these things will happen before the people now living have all died. 31 Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away.

No One Knows the Day or Hour

32 “No one knows, however, when that day or hour will come—neither the angels in heaven, nor the Son; only the Father knows.
 “The Gospel of the Lord”
“Praise to you Lord Jesus Christ”
====  7:19 - 7:24 ====
(*) Tell your prepared reflecting story to motivate the children, but according to the Gospel and children’s level of understanding like in the suggestions below…
Gospel reflection:
Ask: What will happen?  <Jesus says that nobody except God knows when Jesus will come again. But as His followers, we should still try to be ready to greet him when He comes. How do you think we can be ready for Jesus?
Lets be ready by doing all that Jesus asks of us, by loving God and one another and helping other people. By living in peace with each other and by sharing what we have so that all people have enough.>

Memory Verse: Mark 13:31
…“31Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away.

Let us stand up and we profess our faith.
Profession of our faith
I believe in God the Father, Almighty,
creator of heaven and earth:
And in Jesus Christ, his only begotten Son, our Lord:
         --bow down--
Who was conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary:
Suffered under Pontius Pilate;
was crucified, died and was buried:
He descended into hell:
The third day he rose again from the dead:
He ascended into heaven,
and sits at the right hand of God the Father Almighty:
From there He will come to judge the living and the dead:
I believe in the Holy Spirit:
the holy catholic church:
the communion of saints:
The forgiveness of sins:
The resurrection of the body:
And the life everlasting.
Amen.

====  7:24 - 7:26 ====
